Mar-04-02, 10:35 AM (EST) "let me try to clear this up one more time" LAST EDITED ON Mar-04-02 AT 11:09 AM (EST)Because the info is spread out over two threads, and many of the posts are very long, I'm going to capsulize for the benefit of the doubt, what took place and why it happened. I'm going to be real brief okay? So many are misunderstanding what really took place. That whole stink was not about copyright!==========THE PAST=============Over a month ago: a post about RAM came up, Kellie said you had to have up to 768K RAM for the best operation of the route editor. He's correct.Bjorn Nalle responded that he was doing his route with alot less the 768K RAM and that he was having no problems. Lawrence began to chew his butt out, mock him, ridicule him, in the same post and in another one he started (to ridicule Bjorn even more).I was not aware this had happened when Bjorn emailed me and asked what did he did wrong. I took a look at the thread and I didn't see where Bjron did anything wrong.PRIVATELY, I took issue with this and over many emails, Kellie admitted he was wrong. In this I told Lawrence he needed to stop hurting people. Lawrence was upset people were calling him names. So then Lawrence began trolling my posts, nit picking what I was saying throwing in subtle insults.========== PRESENT DAY ============... the first thread ...I posted a message asking those who contributed to my route, to CHECK THE SPELLING of their names. That's it. Nothing else was written. CHECK THE SPELLING.Lawrence posted immediately as if I had left somebody off the list, which he eventually named as himself.LAWRENCE HAD NO INVOLVEMENT IN THE ROUTE. He taught me how to use DEMS. I applied the DEMs to the route. He dropped his own project the DEM Tutorial which was why he showed me how to do DEMS. You all never heard about this. I gave him full credit in my own DEM Tutorial on the website where the DEM Tutorial is advertised, and in this forum. In the thread Lawrence kept eluding to the private email battle. None of this should have been introduced as it wasn't relevant to his ACCUSING ME I DIDN'T GIVE HIM PROPER CREDIT for helping me in the route. This led me to believe he was making a trumped of charge to get revenge for my taking him to task for badgering Bjorn.... the second thread ...Nobody else was participating in the first thread so I opened a new thread where the ACCUSATION by Lawrence could be responded to.I said I was postponing the route til a decision could be made.HOWEVER!!!And this is the key here, in post #10, Bill the longhairwizard, introduced that Lawrence didn't have a valid claim because he hadn't even done the same with his own route. That ended the it for me. In my next post, which was pretty long, at the very end, I said "Screw Lawrence, the route is a go."=========================================================Lawrence stated in his leaving thread (Tapiola) that he left because numerous people said he gave in his route, less than adequate mention of the people who contributed. AND HERE HE WAS JUST ACCUSING ME OF NOT MENTIONING HIM. The thing is, HE HADN'T DONE ANYTHING TO HELP ME COMPLETE THE ROUTE. The point here is NOONE complained to Lawrence his lack of mentioning contributing authors. The complaint was his hypocrasy. So you see, this isn't about copyright like you think. He got caught making an accusation he was guilty of himself. He trumped up a charge that wasn't true! But he got caught at his own game.So like a little selfish boy, he ripped his offerings from you, to take his folly out on you. And in the process of doing so, twisted what really happened. Noone accused Lawrence of not giving people credit. LAME was the word I used, he certainly does not go to the lengths I do to thank people for their efforts. But noone said what he claims.==============================================
The reason this has escalated because not too many people are reading what happened carefully. This is not about copyright! This is about someone carrying a grudge into the forum, and making a bogus issue and getting caught at his own dirtywork.===========================================================Here some links if you care to see what took place, this is not in chronological order:Lawrence Kellie's response to Simmerjoe who just lost his route for the 4th time:http://www.train-sim.com/cgi/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=3827&forum=DCForumID6&omm=0The post where Lawrence flames Bjorn when Bjorn did nothing wrong. Kellie never liked be contradicted:http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID6/3556.htmlIt begins with response #21, Bjorn comes in #22The second thread Lawrence mocks Bjorn comes on the same date but you'll have to search for that thread. And folks who know this battle, didn't you find it odd Lawrence apologized to 2 people? This is why Bjorn even came up. It was because of the private email battle I had with Lawrence. So why did it wind up in a supposed copyright battle? Because it was never about the copyright, Lawrence was just out to make trouble.Look what Lawrence says to me when I announced I suspended my route:"I want you to understand something very clearly. Your choice to suspend Bodiddly was your choice. It was your choice, Rich. I did not force you, coerce you, manipulate you, threaten you, or any other form of force, into you making that decision. During this entire discussion (thread), you have had the choice to continue (by responding) or not (by not responding). This time, your little tricks of making someone else responsible for your decisions will not work."If you measure Lawrence's leaving by his own words, it was his choice, no one coerced him, manipulated him or threatened him. HIS LEAVING WAS HIS OWN DOING... because he got caught making trouble and many members disagreed with his assertion that I had to put his name up with the Bodiddly RR.This stink had nothing to do with copyright. He was a phoney argument just to get revenge.Rich GarberPS.. I really did try to keep this shortPSS... In the edit I added the bold to the route is a go. There seems to be some confusion whether a decision was made. It was and that was shortly after the second post. Am I long winded or what?

But just to clarify.. it doesnt change what i said in the link above, only cements it more.Just a few ponderings that will end with a <- means a laugh..a joke.. a smile. Can i claim copyright for Bodiddly ?? Have i been mentioned ?? If not i'll unistall MSTS (umm hang on..allready done, did it itself.. if must be able to foresee the future !!) I built all my routes and your Mod and Jims Mod with only 196RAM... It was a stupid debate.. amazed it went as far as it did. Anyway.. Just like to say thanks for clearing up a little of what has been a huge mess it seems.... I wait with baited breathe for Lawrences story.. he'll be back and as long as you 2 stray away from each other.. all should be sweet again in this happy, vibrant, loving community..Ahhhhh breathe deep....Catchya's Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-04-02, 01:31 PM (EST) 3. "RE: let me try to clear this up one more time" Hi,Well I am not that good in English, but I hope that "route is a go" means that the route will be released. I'm looking forward to it.Personally I don't like it when people are fighting. So I didn't read the post quite well. But now I understand your point much better Rich. This clarifies a lot to me.Well I am very sorry and sad that again a great contributor decided to go shortly after Svante and Mark Toland.
I cannot understand this, I cannot feel that people have that big ego's.Dick van den Hoven
