RE: sd70m cab

Do you mean the little plate that says "He who has the most 3DTrainStuff wins?" If so, I believe it would just be a matter of loading the sd70cab.ace file into TGA tool and then painting over it.Sd70m cab – image 1

I can live without the fancy stuff.Just a plain old console will do.The cab signals look nice.So does the night time cab view.Good job on that one.

RE: sd70m cab

if you guys really want it realistic then paint over it with the engines road number. I havent run any of the big sd's but on all the GE units ive run, there is actually a place on the right hand screen that displays it. Its in a white block just like the amperage reading labled "road number".Just a thought

Cheers,
Randy

RE: sd70m cab

What you are seeing here is just an experiment that I made from the "original" SD70M from 3D. It originated in the Cab Design Forums several weeks ago, when a few of us (myself, DrJimi, CPR_Malice)started talking about night cabviews. It has taken alot of work to get it to look like that. The main problem is that we don't have a switch in MSTS like Flight Simulator has, to turn on the night view. So it's either light all the time, or dark all the time. I have done similar night cabviews with the Dekosoft models, and have made a bat file that will change it from night to day, but have not tested it on any operating system other than Windows 98 SE. It would also involve everyone having to download double the filesize of the cabviews, which is a large amount. The final decision on what will be done at Dekosoft, with future models has not been determined as of yet. As for the 3D-Trainstuff model, I just modified theirs for my personal use, because I like it so much. I have not even spoken to anyone about any possibility of this particular nightview. So it has not been packaged or released. I was merely pointing out what could be done to it. (As in the personalization of the Name plate). If you care to see more of what a few of us did, then browse through the previous post in Cab Design about "Night Cabviews" or "Night Textures" etc.

RE: sd70m cab

Randy, I appreciate the compliments. However, this is a modifcation of a previously released freeware locomotive, that I'm not even sure if it's still available for download. And since they recently released a newer version, with their payware Cajon Route, I'm sure that you will understand that any release, of any type, would have to have their permission, approval, and blessings. Thanks for understanding. Kyle
P.S I'll be away from the forums until Friday.
