Your compliance is appreciated. FORUM RULES Problems? There are two common reasons for problems with logging in and posting messages. The first is that you are running a firewall that prevents your messages from being sent to the server. Here's some NS shots I took on NEC v4.0. The lead unit is Justin Cornell's GP60. You might not be able to tell from a distance, but the conrail engine has a NS patch on it.Anything NS! – image 16At the end of the train is an Operation Lifesaver GP59.

It is august of 1985, a HOT hazy summer day in the Appalachians and here is tidewater bound 100 car coal extra. Getting ready to come off of the former Virginian mainline near Ingleside. Engineer “Andy” is feeling discomfort at this point in the trip, notch “8” of the dynamic brakes, the ammeter has been pegged for miles, the air brakes are at 95% and the train is rolling at a steady 22 miles an hour, not speeding up or slowing down, just rolling at 22 miles an hour. “Andy” knows that if the speed increases more than a mile of two the dynamics will start to loose effect but for now the 4 SD40’s are holding back just enough. R.I.P Norfolk and Western,at least I got to know ya

Engineer “Andy” has been able to maintain control and the long train is nearing Glen Lyn now moving at track speed, using only 5% airbrake and notch “4” dynamics. Andy is looking around the cab for a hammer, to beat down the crease he left in the engineer’s seat,a few miles back!!BTW Folks, this is my FIRST ATTEMPT at uploading screen-shots feel free to leave comments!!And yes in 1985 on NS, they where LOTS of NW and SOU units running around! You did not start to see lots of “NS” painted units till about 1986and lash-ups like I have depicted where common!!!
