You may be new to the forums here, and new to Train Simulator.
You're probably also looking for your favorite locomotive, rolling stock or route, also.So before posting a topic here of "Has anyone done such and such a locomotive/car, it'd be helpful to follow the following suggestions.Look at the bottom of this page. There is a link to the "File Library" This is THE most comprehensive file library on the internet for Microsoft Train Simulator.. Other places to look, if you happen to fancy foreign equipment is UKTrainsim (http://www.uktrainsim.com), or for other European stuff, www.the-train.de, and http://www.trainsimworld.de. Look here also http://webdottrainsim.tripod.com/msts517.htmAvsim (http://www.avsim.com) is also a good place to look for some limited US stuff.Log into any of the above, and do a search for what you're looking for.. Odds are great that you'll find something else you've been looking for, too. If you can't find it, odds are it hasn't been done yet.If none of these sites have what you're looking for, do a search of the message forums here and at UKTrainsim. MOST modelers and skinners post their projects for feedback and any corrections. If you still can't find what you're looking for, then you can post a politely worded question here.. Most people don't mind polite requests or questions, it's just that some new people come in and give what amounts to a demand for their favorite thing, only to find that a simple search could have answered their questions..Thanks, and enjoy your train simming experience!

Hi,For German, Swiss and Austrian stuff there is a special catalog.
Look at http://www.koroka.de/This is a better place to look at then the suggested download sites. The sites doesn't contain all the stuff listed in koroka.
For example Mad Mike has his own download site. This site is in German and partly English.Dick van den HovenLooking for a specific Locomotive/car? Look here first! – image 3

RE: Looking for a specific Locomotive/car? Look here if

Dick, been accumulating Links to some of the many sites mentioned in the Forum frequently, but then finding it difficult to remember what they are mainly about without going Online or bloating my Favourites, I also lost on a number of occasions because of not having done a "Back-Up" for a while, not practising what I preach ! After all, this is only my WIN-98SE Comms machine, not so important than the Stand-Alone WIN-XP SIMS puter. And talking about it, I had better do one now, a load of new Bugs being on the loose.Would be a good idea to have a section in this Forum which lists all these sites and what they specialise in ? One of the features I would have on my English-French-German "International Train Sim Web Site", if I ever get around to creating it and can find somebody doing the French Translations for ! I hope I got the English-French-German sequence order right without offending anybody, doing so thinking about their order in terms of percentage use in the world as a whole. O t t o

I put a folder in Favorites called Train-Sims and place all Train-Sim links in there. You can create a folder when you add a link to Favorites. The Organize command lets you sort out links and delete dead links.Likewise, if you create folders for news sites, tools, game sites, shopping sites, etc... You can organize your favorites into folders where you can quickly go to one of hundreds of locations without out having to scroll through a long list of items. Be sure to back up your Favorites list so you don't lose them if you are force to do a reinstall.SRV Ron

Thanks for the added links, guys, I've never heard of most of those sites before, but of course I'm not really into the European stuff...I agree Otto, something like a links list would be good to have in the forums here.
