I did some revisions as suggested (http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID8/5290.html). Many thanks to all the great suggestions. How this one? Any better? I plan to do the entire set of SD40's 9001-9011. I would also like to do an SD50 in Utah RR.See the following link for Utah RR: http://www.railpictures.net/showphotos.php?railroad=Utah%20Railway

Still need to learn the basic and technique of weathering to make sure all of the 11 units look different. Now I just need to find some photos of coal hoppers the Utah RR hauls.MichaelHope everyone has a safe and happy new year!!

Now I just need to find some photos of coal hoppers the Utah RR hauls.I have a ton of NVPX, and IPPX pictures. All I need is the correct model to put them on. If you could find a person to model it, I would be more than willing to work on the textures. I would love to pull IPPX trains up Soldier Summit.Nick

MichealOne last thing you may want to correct...There is no yellow strip below the walkways on the engine. Its just painted grey like the rest of the engine.Nick

Actually its owned by Gennsee & Wyoming Incorporated now...and that's an SD45-2, which I beleive all were sold off prior to, or right after the GWI take over back in summer, mostly to NREX--------Redo of Utah Railway SD40-2 – image 17

Ahh i c....comes through Shelton, WA every so often on the Bangor Turn. Thats why I thought it was a RailAmerica Unit...course we get all kinds of power up here now since RailAmerica took over the Pudget Sound and Pacifc.

RE: Redo of Utah Railway SD40-2

not sure who they leased from to get started...all i know is that it went from a BN line, then Park Searra bought it...which is where the PSAP came from...some paint scheme as their California and Arizona Units...then RailAmarica units started showing up along with CORP and the Utah unit. thats about all I know about it lol....

Whoops, I spoke too soon. I was looking through my pictures and some have the yellow strip, some don't.Yellow strip

9009No yellow strip
9002
9003
9004
9006
9008
9007The SD40's are getting hard to find now. I was just over Soldier Summit and saw all four of the rebuilt MK50-3's pullin an IPP train. Most the time I see the SD50's. Great job by the way on your first engine.Nick

Seen the GWI painted MK50-3 lately, Nick? Rumor was it was repainted back to Grey & red, or it was wrecked, or it was sent back to MK, or...well, you get my drift, no one seems to have reported anything viable on it's locale recently (It's not up here, unless they tucked it into Brookville/Butler Shops last week on that Midnight move)EDIT: STUPID HOODIE SLEEVES! Seen the GWI painted MK50-3 lately, Nick?Hmmm. The four I saw were all grey, and when i drove through Martin, I just saw the SD50's. Utah Railway has 6 MK50-3's. The 5005 is the one in G&W paint. Man I wish I would have stopped to shoot the all MK50-3 train. Then I could give you a definate answer. Who knows it could be in Boise for repairs. You have my curiousity up on this. I'll have to check my other forums and ask around.

RE: Redo of Utah Railway SD40-2

Thanks John and Mike. I do plan to upload when I have put the finishing touches on the units. I'm doing all 11 of the SD40-2 (9001-9011). Once I get them 'baked' I will need to send to Chip at Dekosoft (I used his template for these) and get his blessing and approval. Then I will need to decide on releasing as a pack (maybe in multiples of 3 or 4) or separate. Not sure of a timeline yet. I've never uploaded anything to the library so I will need to get up to speed on that process and make sure I've done it correctly, I want to make sure that my first time is a positive one. Here are some more previews - the Utah 9001 has been weathered (still trying to get the hang of PSP and it's various functionality).Once these are complete and satisfactory for download I plan to start on the Utah RR SD50's.Thanks again for your inquiry and compliments.Happy New Year!Michael
