Utah Railway SD40-2 Comments

Finally had some time this holiday weekend to do a SD40-2 in the Utah Railway paint scheme. I'm definetly not a PRO at this - still trying to learn PSP. Here's some screenshots - still needs work....any and all comments, suggestions are welcomed.Hope everyone had a safe and Merry Christmas.Thanks! Michael

They are looking very nice indeed Michael! Those SD40's will be a real treat when Soldier Summit is made for MSTS! One suggestion though mate, I could be wrong. The white is too white, prehaps add a LITTLE grey?? Other than that, those locos are looking very nice indeed! Have a nice Christmas & New year too! >Mike Forster<

Not bad. As a veteren of a many a Dekosoft re-skin, I would suggest you add 3-5% noise.Next a little light and dark with a camel hair airbrush tip.Save the orignal ace's,un-weathered for future re-numbers

Nice!Few sugestions though: The yellow bordered red stripe on the long hood should rid ea little higher, it splits the hood in even halfs. And the yellow bordered red should extend down about a scale inch over the sides of the hood.But i'd be willing to run some of these with my GWI painted UR MK50-3 --------

heres a shot of a Utah Railway GP38 that runs on the Bangor turn from time to time. Thought you might be able to use it to get the color a little closer. I will try to see if I have anymore floting around.Bill

Here are a few more SD40-2 Utah units. 9010 and 9005 have the lower steps in gray. Attempting to make each unit different with 'weathering' - still learning PSP and it's features. I need to 'weathering' the silver trucks - any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Also any suggestions on how to weather to get the 'coal' look I've seen in several pictures.
