I had no problem the first few times I ran it, but now, right clicking in the path editor is a very risky affair. Most of the time it locks up the first right click, and I can't even place a start point. If I get the start point placed, it locks up when I try to toggle direction or toggle path. Very frustrating...Any ideas?Bob

RE: AE lockup

Well, it sorta helps... I haven't got any reverse loops as such, but the basic track layout is a big loop, basically a reproduction of the 4x8 HO layout I had as a kid.
The thing is, I'm not trying to get the path....I've just realized that maybe I am trying to get the path to loop back on itself.
Thanks a bunch, I think you just solved my problem. I'm off to rip up some track...Bob

Bob, it's been said many times on here, but the key to using 'loops' is having a switch (or more than one) that defaults to going out of the loop (or breaking the loop). In that way, depending on how many artificial breaks you have in it, you stand a much better chance of making varied paths. Eventually it will come back on itself and either 'burp' you out, or simply lock up the path and not let you change it, no matter what you do.RobertR .. ADF-M&RM at http://www.adfrr.com

RE: AE lockup

Thanks,
Turns out I mis-connected a piece and had a loop instead of a switchback. I didn't spot it right away, since it's miles down the track from the path I was working on. Sooner or later I'll get all the bugs out, heh.Bob

"..I didn't spot it right away, since it's miles down the track from the path I was working on. Sooner or later I'll get all the bugs out, heh."Glad it helped. btw, speaking of miles down the track, I had an incident happen similar to this that ended up locking the sim up almost 270 miles down the path. Talk about looking for a needle in a haystack, but finally figured it out since the AE would act up everytime I tried working in that area and would not let me make a path that I knew (thought) should be useable. Also, if you ever get all the bugs out, you'd better package your formula for achieving this and put it up for sale .. you won't have to work another day in your life RobertR ..
