To the designers of Marias 3.1 I downloaded the route and installed it with no problem after watching the different comments on this forum. I really like it and thank you. Could you tell me if there is any "Dynamic" track used in the route? I might want to make a small change and I would need to run Horace if Dynamic track has been used. Thanks again for the fine work on this......

What ever the reason for knowing is up to you, but if you find a tsection.dat file in the route folder itself (not the one in the global folder), open it up. If ANY track sections are listed, those are each and ever instance of a piece of dynamic track used in the route.Martyn T. Griffin griffinmt@mindspring.com
I found that Marias 3.1 runs fine without X-Tracks. I just added three lines to my TSection file like "Bobs" said http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID3/14559.html#6 in one of his threads. Line 220,222,224. I use both x-tracks and regular tracks due to I have 6 of my own routes started before x-tracks came out. I just change TSection files to add or remove x-tracks...

Fred, yes there are dynamic track pieces in MP3.1.While simply adding the three entries like I suggested and you did will get around the problem, it creates a unique tsection.dat, which I did not intend to do. That's the whole purpose behind the standardized tsection.dat David Beach is maintaining. I simply forgot that I had done that, and it has messed everyone up.Bob Siederer Co-author of Marias Pass 3.1
Okay what gives? I had xtracks 3.4 already installed, downloaded and unzipped the files, waited forever for the dos installer to finish. loaded teh route and did a test run from Whitefish to Columbia Falls with Chip's new DRGW GP40-2. Not a glitch, even though I only went a few miles. Am I missing something here?In addition to all the fine work you both have done, the way you handled the activities is outstanding to say the very least! The option to pick and choose which activities to load, and the non-default equipment is very very very nice.My hat is off to both Paul and Bob. (as it was for 2.0 & 3.0)John
Bob, have you considered pulling the download, correcting the error and upload it again? It would make it so much easier for the 11,000+ folks who are going to download and install.
Yes, I was waiting until I knew for sure what was wrong. While installing XTracks will fix the problem, it is overkill. All you really need is to use the standardized global\tsection.dat file. XTracks installs that, so that's why it works. The three missing definitions mention are the root of the problem and the standardized tsection.dat defines them.Bob Siederer Co-author of Marias Pass 3.1
John,I know, and I fully support the efforts of both Okrasa and David Beach to standardize this stuff. It is nice to have more than one way to fix something for a change!Bob Siederer Co-author of Marias Pass 3.1
