Feb-22-02, 05:55 PM (EST) "Combining route sections?" Hi everyone!A few months ago, independent of Bill Knowles' NEC v.2, I did my own editing of the default NEC, which was never uploaded because I couldn't figure out how to distribute it successfully. I'm really very happy with my results and don't want to lose them, but I'm also very interested in adding the "extension" that is currently being developed. Is anybody aware of a successful way to add the new world tiles to my existing NEC route--which, more generally, is simply a question of merging parts of two different route folders? Thanks!

Hi, I already posted about this as I started to merge ther Marias V3.0 and the Whitefish to Sandpoint Extension (see www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID6/3708.html).Some suggestions before you start: First backup the two routes you're going to merge. Simply copying the two routes into one new route does not work! It only corrupts the .dat and other configuration files. I took one route, opened it in the terrain editor, added the missing tiles and created them as blanks. Then I replaced the blank *.t and *_y.raw files with those from the other route. Watch out for tiles that exist one both routes! They have to be adjusted in the track editor afterwards. I'm currently writing a tool to do this automatically. Files from the Shapes, Envfiles, Sound are copied.
That's where I got. I'm trying to find out how to recreate the *.w (World) and the others. You can't simply copy them as they must match the *.tdb, *.tit, *.trk and tsection.dat files. You also need to combine the sig*.dat files as they might be useddifferent signals in the two routes. Combine all the *.dat files is one of the major problems not solved yet.
Probably someone knows how-to?juneau777
