Aug-28-01, 02:21 AM (EST) "route things.. or lack of..." LAST EDITED ON Aug-28-01 AT 02:24 AM (EST)Where are the buildings, vehicles, other trees, etc?? There are so many posts to go through to find this out... I can't find things in the route editor other than track and some little things. I have found no buildings, vehicles, only one kind of signal, no bridges, only single trees and a forest, and none of the other peices of sencery that you see in the existing routes. And no working thumbnails (execpt one or two).

"RE: route things.. or lack of..." bsically you need to add shapes and textures from other routes, and edit ref files to tell train sim to use the object.Do a search for 'Combined Ref' or 'combo ref' this should get you started. Aug-29-01, 02:20 AM (EST) 3. "RE: route things.. or lack of..." Check out Route Help 2 or whatever I called it in the library. It has alot of these kinds of questions asked, and answered. It's a compilation of messages that are on this board that I put together to help me get through the learning curve. It's not a tutorial at all. It may just give you a hint or an inkling to help you figure out what you maybe looking for. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-31-01, 01:20 AM (EST) 5. "RE: route things.. or lack of..." I looked for "combo.ref" and for "combined.ref" and only found .ref's for the different routes and objects and templates... which one do I use? Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-29-01, 09:20 AM (EST) 4. "RE: route things.. or lack of..." As stated, look for the combined ref thread from Jim Stevens. Its around the 18th of August. Jim has done great work to give us all access to the nearly 2000 objects in MSTS. The ref file is basically like the index at the front of the book that gives access to most of the files. The remainder are in the dat files which are also included in his work. Again look for threads about merge folder creation.David Klemm
