I've been relegated to "Lurker" and "Trophy Downloader" here recently rather than "Simmer," but I'm getting ready to have some free-time. It seems like one of those nifty downloads gave a person the capability to move a whole route so as to get out of a white void area. I've forgotten which utility it was, and even if I remembered, I probably wouldn't have remembered how to use it. Can anybody give me a watered down explanation on this, or point me in the right direction for this, or am I just lving in a fantasy world and no such critter exists? Thanks!

You can shift a route at creation using the latest version of DEMEX which is still very much available at:http://www.digital-rails.comUsing this method, it must be done at the TILE GENERATION level. Moving a completed route is something I'm not conversant with, so will pass on that and let others comment.

Clayton, try changing the start tile to the other end of your route in the RE. Worked for me... and it's easy to change back.

Hmm, maybe I should clarify a little bit because your answers mean either a) I'm dumber than I thought or b) I didn't ask the right question. (Actually, it's probably c) all of the above, but hey. . .) What I want to do is take an existing route that I downloaded from the file library and move it to a different long/lat location so that I can get out of a white void area. I thought there was a utility (Horace??) that would let you do that, but I have been losing a lot of sleep lately. . .

OK, one more question before I start this mess--will RR also shift the terrain and all other scenic items as well, or just the trackage itself? I don't want to turn my mountains into mole-hills!!

Thanks for your patience, Charlie. This is one area where I'm completely stupid (but then, you already knew that, eh?)

RE: While I'm at it, just how do I move a route??

Oh yeah, I'm a big TSUtil expert now that I've used it once. Since I was feeling some self-imposed pressure to help another guy get his route done by the 19th (tomorrow!), I ignored the error report, closed my eyes and pushed the "go" button. Since I had stripped out the interactives and was only sending world files and tiles, it seems to have worked OK anyway since he hasn't thrown any rocks at me lately. Here's a volunteer to help you get through the TSUtils Route Integrity Check report:http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID6/12675.html#5We all keep our backups...regards,

Perhaps i should insert a statement like:
