Why do you call it "Strasburg Sim" anyway? It's not like it's a individual game or anything. It's just that it confusing./JonatanSteam rules!

It doesn't need to be a serparate system. It's a simulation of the Strasburg Railroad.Kevin Bush

RE: Strasburg Sim Sounds

Personally, I'd doubt it, as it is very difficult to make a set of sounds. And quite honestly, to build and/or repaint five or six locomotives, sounds will probably be the least of his concerns.

I am concentrating on getting the physical route done. All the "extras" will come later. I have no experience with sounds in MSTS at all. I understand sounds are available online for the strasburg. I also have some videos I can pull sounds from if need be. I will get around to experimenting with real sounds, but not right now.
I put off the Caboose motel for a long time, but once I got into it, everything fell into place nicely. My point is, I put things off until I have a revelation, then ideas just flow out of me. I hope sounds will be like that!Chris

Joe Fusco has a Strasburg sounds on his website. If you get his permission, you could pull the bell and whistle sounds from his clips. Or I could get some sounds from #90 off my recent Strasburg video....

Just a reminder for all who wonder: I happen to call it "Strasburg Sim" as a nickname so I don't have to say "Microsoft Train Simulator Strasburg Railroad Route Add-On". Saves me about 38 letters. Sorry for the confusion anyhow; I'll call it "Strasburg ROUTE" from now on.Chris: I know you aren't concerned with the sounds right now; I was just wondering if you ever intended to put them in the route when you had the chance. Alot of people have sounds (I have about 3 hrs. including each engine) if you need them.

Hey Ben, welcome to train-sim.com. Just for the record, I'm Chris and Mike is "OC_Railfan". I was just curious about the sounds here; I know they're not coming now; just wanted to know if they were coming at all. I think Chris will worry about them later.By the way, Chris, how is the route coming along lately? Just another question: will you be working on the equipment and locomotives after you finish with the route itself?

http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID6/12599.htmlI still can't find a decent 475, and I think I'll try a 1223, even though it's in the museum now. The only think I can't find is the railcar. Thanks for the interest. I may post a couple of pics of the mall area this weekend if I get it totally done. I also put in the caternary gantries along the Amtrash right of way this week.Chris

>this week. You know better than to call Amtrak TRASH, Chris! I like the idea of 1223. That would be cool! And, just as a quick suggestion for the coaches, the D&SNGRR coaches you used for screenshots look just like Strasburg coaches, and they only need be painted red!

No need, slna_pas.zip has a coach painted red/dark red. Just change the lettering to "Strasburg" and numbers (e.g. 70) and it'll be like a SRC coach.

>it hold 9 cars for 90?I'm not sure, I didn't count how many it can hold yet, Maybe less than 9 though. Have you moved the headlight on 90?I *can't* move the head light or any other part of an existing model. It can only be moved by the person that created it in the first place. All of the models you see here a reskinned or "repainted" versions of some one else's models. In certain rare cases a detail of a model may be removed or made invisible using Alpha channel manipulation of the ace file, but I can't add anything.

>Have you found 475 yet?? Not yet, still looking. There are people out there working on a few new steamers, so we'll see. Someone is making a camelback, although the wheel arrangement is wrong for No. 4.Chris

>Chris Yes! Yes! Yes! They look awesome! All they need are their names/numbers. The route is really looking great. Can't wait till it's finished. Until then, please update us on the eninges after they have been created. Thanks again! And as for Ben (oldnumber90), the station siding can hold up to ten coaches. As far as I know about the engines, 90 and 89 shouldn't be a problem, 475 is still up in the air, and 31 needs alot of work. Can you add to this, Chris?

See below. I may contact the designer and see if he can modify it. It would be awesome to take the railcar out for a spin (as much fun as the railbus!)Chris

>Chris Well, you are certainly on the right track. That model already has some similarities with the real thing! In my opinion, Chris, try working on it a little more and see what you can come up with. Until then, maybe its designer can help out! My brother is anxious for the railbus. I'd rather you took longer to make the route for reality's sake and I'm sure others would agree.
