Been doing a little work on the E&N route this weekend in between watching hockey games and doing weekend projects. I have managed to get the winter textures working and am working on scenery south of milepost 79.0. Here are some update pics for those of you who have emailed me wanting an update. Those are beautiful! You've done a magnificent job of capturing the typically densly forested terrain of so much of BC. What kind of a hit do your framerates take?

It's been quite a few years since I've been to the island, nice to visit it in the sim. I'll be working on a logging line on the Olympic Penninsula, Rayonier, fairly soon, and hope to get as good a look to my forests!I look forward to future posts.

I am still getting a 20 to 35 FPS in the most dense areas. I am using a P4 2.4GHZ system, 512mb RAM and a Radeon 9700 Pro. I recently read something in the forums about downloading a program that was supposed to do something to the sound in Directx in which you can get up to another 7 FPS. I can't seem to find the link, does anybody know what I am looking for?Regards,ENR3005

It looks beautiful! I'll eat a few FPS for a nice looking Canadian route (not to mention somewhere that I can prototypically drive RDC's!)

Nice work Chris! I see you've ditched the stacked forest region in favor of cross fir blocks as well. Good choice IMHO, I hate the way forests pop up up at way too short a distance. It seems 90% of the time the fir block shapes are loaded when you get there. I'll take the visuals over perfomance every time. Jeff.

I don't have a release date at this time but I would like to finish the track to Port Alberni and a little more scenery in some of the towns so at least people could get a good idea what the line was like. Sometime next year for sure.ENR3005
