RE: Union Pacific 119

!!Why are you using other people's avatar? An Avatar is ususally tooken by ONE person, and until they chagne..usually other users don;t copy it. And, I may be wrong, but isn't it a pic of the person who uses it (sd70mac666(?))>>100% I agree

Nothing. And what the hell are you doing in the Locomotive Design forum telling people to build a lcomotive? You said that you have TSM and Paint Shed, so you should have the resources you need to build it yourself. And another thing, this forum is for Tech Designers and for people who need help with modeling programs, not for locomotive requests.-- Mike Karlik --

RE: Union Pacific 119

I tried 119 once- It looked good but I couldn't get textures. I might have a tender- I'm not sure, but I can't send it to you. Try finding the person who made the 4-4-0 in the file library originally and ask if they'll make one with a straight stack to become 119.Joel Lefever
I'd like to see this loco, too.

RE: Union Pacific 119

Are you talking about the Inyo? V&T 22?If so the Inyo is NOTHING like the 119 in the least bit, they aren't even from the same builder.-=Andrew=-

RE: Union Pacific 119

Not trying to critize, but I don't know the difference between Porter, Baldwin, etc. on a 4-4-0. If the builder wanted to give the Jupiter a straight stack and change a few small details, it would look just like 119. And the Jupiter isn't all that close to accurate, either- 119 wouldn't look all that bad.Joel Lefever
My best way of telling the difference is the cylinders-if they say "Porter", it's a porter.

Kenya
Did you go to the abacus website and download the upgraded version of TSM? There are problems in 1.1 and it's free for those with version 1.1.
second, it took me a bit of effort to get the hang of TSM working on simple projects,go back to the post you made when you announced you'd gotten TSM and follow my advice I gave you there.
TSM has about the easiest learning curve of any of the programs but if you don't take the time to get the basics down save your money and or download time.
You're attempting to jump from the simple cube stage of 3D modeling to attempting about the most complex form of motive power in train simming, start small and work up to the more advanced projects.Gary S

RE: Union Pacific 119

Hello,I'm currently working on building the #119, among other things.I've been working with Jim Wilke on refining my model's paint scheme to match Jim's more recent research. Jim is the historian who was behind the 1994 repaints of the Golden Spike replicas into their current appearance. Since then, Jim has discovered that the tender panel (currently red on the replica) would have been either blue or green (Rogers used both on wine locomotives). Jim is currently going with green for #119's tender panel. Also, the number medallion would be red, instead of black. Other changes include painting the tender trucks, locomotive frame, cylinder saddle, and other things wine to match the main color of the locomotive.Attached is a screenshot of how the model currently looks. There is no definite timetable for release, perhaps in a few months.Jon Davis
