I beg some-one to explain to me, how does a person make this kind of roof in GMax? See the attached pic.
I made the wagon up to roof level but now I'm stumped. Please help.
Johan.

A little difficult, bit like doing the bulldog nose, only it is a roof and is a (lots of swear words) lot easier. hehe Your best bet would be the make the center part of the roof (i.e. the part of the roof where you don't sweep around 90 degree to run across the car) then make a bit for the ends (more sections) and build it to match the roof profile then start bending.Hope this helps, by the way, what model is that?Projects
- 421 class Public Transport Commission of New South Wales diesel electircs:
No. 1 end - 13% (Nose is starting to take shape, and with any luck screenshots should be released soon)
Huge rebuild of original parts going on at the moment (i.e. pilots, bogies and other things)
Overall - 23.5%
- 422 class New South Wales Government Railways diesel electircs:
On the drawing boards for a project after the 421's.
Overall - Not officialAs I sit here chewing on my MSTS CD, I wonder why did God make MS?

Kwk100 & Aussie Cow,
Thanks for replying. Kwk100, could you maybe E-mail the info to me? ( layman's terms, Please. )
johanjp@worldonline.co.za AussieC.... It is a South African Railways coach C-27. I attach another view of it as well as my attempt at making it without the "Roof" obviously. ( Ignore the texture, which needs to be turned around. )

Pretty cool model (both real model and MSTS model) you have there. I had only one question, but I couldn't put it in simple english, it wasn't really important anyway.Projects

RE: How does a person make such a Roof?

I'm not sure how Gmax compares to TSM but I could show you how I did the roof on my Victorian Railways AW car in TSM if that helps; the roof being similar to your car...Cheers,

>I'm not sure how Gmax compares to TSMAccording to people who have used both, TSM is in the dark-ages, with G-max having many many more tools than TSM. However a growing trend seems to be people using TSM. :S I know myself being in the middle of building a bulldog, I would never use anything other than gmax because of the fact that once you know how to use it, it is so easy! Sorry about this turning into a TSM vs. gmax debate like so many of those things do. Projects

RE: How does a person make such a Roof?

Matt A,
Thanks for the offer however I do not know how TSM compares to GMax? I'm not conversant with TSM at all. Has it got a simular type of interface, like GMax or 3DSMax4? If it has or closely resemble it, then PLEEEAAASe help. Yes, it is your second line of coaches',roof.
KWK100, I'm honestly grateful that you haven't forgotten me I was starting to feel very lonely and forsaken.
Johan.

Oh that, sorry I just put that little line in my signature so that I can easily attach images to my messages after I upload without having to type that whole thing out. I don't like having attachments on my messages after my signatures, so I cut the file name (after it has been uploaded) out of the Attachment text box and past it after the User_files/
