Andy (DrwgK36),please, some more help? I would've E-mailed you but I do not possess your Address. Could you please guide me as to how do I go about in using the MSTS thingy in GMax to import my model correctly into MSTS? I've got a serious Bounding box problem...and do not know if it is the way, I'm, importing it. When I pull my wagons forward in MSTS with a Loco, it runs fine. However when I stop and now reverse....the wagons gets pushed into each other? ( i.e. the train gets shorter ) How do I set the Bounding boxes? Do it get set with the import plug-in or with the *.sd files? Johan. Sorry for my ignorance!
Johan:You can reach me at cam75@mindspring.com. Or you will as soon as I get my computer repaired! The box at home is down for a few days waiting on parts.I may be as in the dark as you are with this one. I've worked on 1 rolling stock item so far, and it's not quite done yet, so take this all with a grain of salt. The way I set my bounding box and size parameters seemed to work OK with the tank car I've been working on. There were a series of posts about a week ago on this topic, answering a question I posted on adjusting the differences between cars when they're coupled together. The answer was to look at the .sd and .wag files. There are 3 places where you need to make sure that the values are consistent. In the .sd file, there is one line with x, y, and z values. The length should be the largest of the 3. Make sure that number is consistent with the 2 lines in the .wag file that refer to length. One of those lines (if I recall correctly - it may be both) has both + and - values, so they'll be half of the length in the .sd file. So if your length in the .sd file is 5.2m, in the .wag file you'll want to have a 2.6 and a -2.6 value in the appropriate places. Again, they should be the biggest values in the list, and I think they're the 3rd and 6th numbers in the list. These lines are near the top of the file, so they shouldn't be too hard to find.Good luck.Andy
Your problem is in either the .sd file (which is the bbox file) or in the .wag file which would have incorrect length values, I THINK it is the .wag, but try both and you should be running trains again (properly this time) in no time at all.Cheers.Projects - 421 class Public Transport Commission of New South Wales diesel electircs: Roof - 90% No. 2 end - 88% (MU sockets, pilot details and number boards/headlights need to be added) No. 1 end - 05% (Headlight & handrails are on) Overall - 11.2% - 422 class New South Wales Government Railways diesel electircs: On the drawing boards for a project after the 421's.
