The .eng files for the PRR/PC MP-54s did not include a critical line that enables activity station loading times--passenger capacity. If you are creating/operating an activity for those units, please add the following line to the top of the respective .eng file, between the Wagonshape and Size lines, same indent: PassengerCapacity ( 72.0 )My apologies for the omission, and many thanks to Henry3 for developing the solution. The upcoming release of the LIRR MP-54s will have this entry in the .eng files.Aloha, Jeff Link

RE: PRR/PC MP-54 Station Loading Time

Jeff where did you find this?
I just did a quick search of the TechDocs and could find no mention of this parameter.....I did find it in RRichter's totally complete ENG file reference however....
He calls it a not listed entry in the Wagon section of the ENG file....
He also lists it as "Sure tested by Myself".....
I thought passenger loading was controlled by a statement/parameter in the activity file??????Kevin can you help?Sure hope its not an another Incredible mistake by NALW???????

RE: PRR/PC MP-54 Station Loading Time

I'm also in the blind about the certain parameter, I could however do some testing and come up with an answer (I hope) in my spare time if anyone wants me to.To those who lost loved ones in Waterfall, I do not know how you feel, but I lost someone in Granville. The Australian people are there to help, and I'm sure they will.

Chuck--I can not take credit for finding it, it was Henry3. He and I often gut out activities he writes (they're really superb!) and he was quick to load up the MP-54s, as that was the motivation to model them, to run them with your GG-1s.I discovered that I was not getting the station loading time in the MP-54 in his activity and asked Henry about it; he responded the next day having heard of or recalled that parameter in a European railcar, he thought the "Kopoloper." I looked in other .eng and .wag files (to include the GG-1 and several coaches) and did not find it, but once I put that line of code in the MP-54's .eng file the station loading time worked...took it out, it doesn't. Like you I thought passenger loading was controlled by the activity file somewhat, but more by the object coding properties in Route Editor. Either way, we are indebted to Henry3 for this nugget of wisdom. Hope it's useful to you.And by the way, I love NALW's work, the Berkshire was particularly a beautiful work of art.Aloha, Jeff

RE: PRR/PC MP-54 Station Loading Time

While I'd love to take credit for the discovery, I cannot do so in good conscience. I'm pretty sure that I first saw reference to this parameter here in the forums.Once I could get the cars to load at the station, I took a quick peek at the .eng file in one of the Christrains sets (the Koploper, I believe) and borrowed the line once I found it.Unlike Jeff, I was cramming in 100 passengers. <g>Take care,Henry

Hi all, although this is actually not a new topic, see (among others)http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID3/15584.html
http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID7/1133.html
http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID7/1122.html
http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID7/920.htmlYep: At least one .eng or .wag in a passenger consist needs that line for the passenger loading / unloading feature to work. Unfortunately, many authors have overlooked it (or were not aware of it). Many earlier releases of passenger cars, interurbans, trolleys or EMU's miss that line, thus making passenger loading / unloading unavailable in any activity.Regarding parameter in an activity: Any platform in a route has a predefined number of passengers waiting, a default value selected by the route author and burried in the routes .tit file, if I am correct, cf value for Shelby: PlatformNumPassengersWaiting ( 3 ) Sometimes (all too often) this value is set to 0, see Browning in Marias Pass, where you get an Amtrak Depot next to the track, but cannot load passengers by default! The value of passengers waiting can be changed by the creator of an activity, by right clicking on the blue bar representing a plattform. The new value then just holds for the activity in question, and influences passenger loading time, provided at least one of your cars has PassengerCapacity. Example: I am working on a "SkiTrain" style activity for Marias Pass with the passengers waiting (to load or unload doesn't matter) at Glacier Park set to 160 - that gives me a 12 minutes stop up there...My thanks to all authors of passenger equipment who now include a (realistic) passenger capacity with their .eng and .wag. I had to edit some 150 files in question to get all of my passenger stock to carry pax Lukas a.k.a Swissie

RE: PRR/PC MP-54 Station Loading Time

I've found that using the correct number of passengers doesn't always work! When my R17 stock (New York Subway) stops at a busy station (such as Grand Central on my upcomming 7 route), if you set realistic numbers, the station loading time is excessive - 8 mins. Therefore in subways it's better to have a lower passenger count than actual. This will probably be true for traction as well.I think the sim allocates a time consistent with loading an Inter-City (Amtrack) type train, and not a suburban/subway train.Any thoughts on how to correct this will be appreciated.Paul
