All 10 of them were owned by FamilyLines. All were retired. The locomotive's cab is the way it is because this was a early attempt to have a cabooseless train. This would a great locomotive for any southern United States railway Fan. Heres a pic of it....

Jan-03-02, 01:33 AM (EST) 8. "RE: The BQ23-7" The image above belies the true uglyness of these units. In later life the windows were plated over with metal and they were used strictly as b-units. After that I always referred to them as BBQ's. Andrew... what kind of electronic drawings do you have?-Chris Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-06-02, 06:00 PM (EST) 9. "RE: The BQ23-7" Hey All,
Thanks very much to Andrew Pickell, I now have drawings from the July 1983 Model Railroader of the BQ23-7! I am currently working on a C30-7 model ( http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID5/2208.html for pics if you are interested ). Since the bodies are pretty similar and the C30-7 would make a good starting point, I will work on the BQ23-7 model next! It would be really sweet to have in MSTS! It would really be sweet if someone could pull off a custom cab for this beast!John D. Peterson
