Hello! While I'm having a lot of fun exploring this great route, using one of the activities provided or the general EXPLORE MODE, I see a lot of train cars in many points and I'd like to add some of them to my running train ... but I can't understand how to know if these cars are "real" consists or only scenery objects. Can you help please? Thanks!Roberto
Easy, Roberto !If you try to drive into one of these sidings and can't then it is just a "Static Object" consist, it's track usually not connected to the others. Other routes like the LEHIGH VALLEY use regular tracks to place them one and you can literally drive through them without causing a crash ! Looks funny. O t t o
Another way to tell is the fake tracks that the fake cars are sitting on have a different color ballast.Just to clear up some possible confusion, the real cars that you CAN couple up to are only in activities, when you're in explore route mode ALL the "loose consists" you see are "static trains" scenery objects. You can't have loose consists or AI traffic trains in actual explore route mode, which is the whole point of having freestyle activities. In explore route mode the only real cars on the route are the ones already in your train when you start.
Hey, dude. Check out this topic. It'll explain about those static consists. Your not alone, I was fooled by them too. http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID3/24417.html#11-BeaverMon is no more, Ben D is here to stay- -BETA Tester for the PO&N Route-

If you are unsure whether railcars are part of a real consist that you can hook on to or simply scenery, press <F7> This brings up the car numbers (as assigned by MSTS for activitiy tracking purposes). If the cars in question have a series of numbers above them, they are a real consist that you can hook on to. If you don't see car numbers, the cars are part of the scenery.Take care, Gary Cameron Grande Prairie "The last civilized stop before Alaska," AB Canada
