I am missing the loco sounds like the horn, engine noises, and bell for instance....When I go to the #2 outside view and the #4 outside view. I also lose the sounds in the cabout view.... what could be causing this to happen on all of my locomotives???? The only sounds I get is the crossing bell, birds, and the sounds of the cars on the rails!!!Help!!! hahaKevin
Hi,Just a guess, but check the .eng file for that engine and be sure that the bracket counts are correct. Next, check the xxxxxxeng.sms file that should be referenced in the .eng file immediately after the lights. If the eng.sms file is missing or has its own problems finding sounds, that would keep external sounds from happening. AYou'll notice at the end of the .eng file, there is a cab.sms file referenced that handles the sounds when you are in the cab.Conbuilder, available in the library, does a good job of checking for sound errors.Hope this helps.BryceEdit: You might also check the sound settings in the options area of MSTS, and be sure it is turned up. Depending upon the engine, maybe some sounds turn off if the slider is down.
Kevin: The external sounds you are hearing are from the Sound folder in the main directory. Just so you know these sounds are not associated with the engine sounds. If your sound sliders are maxed, that should solve the problem, IF all engines are effected. If only certain engines are effected you may have to activate the external cam in the eng.smsLet us know what happens.Cyndi
