This is only sort of a Train Sim question as I’ve got a problem here now which boggles attempts to log on here and peruse and download without prurient material popping up. This problem did not come from this site, but other people sometimes use this system ... need I say more?To my chagrin there is a new tool bar up in the IE 6 Chrome ... one which purports to expedite web cruising. I can right click in the tool bar area and uncheck this creature, ("Pop") but on the bottom of the screen there is another bar which offers all manner of stuff I do not want to even go near. The only way to get rid of this is through CNTRL ALT DEL, but when one navigates to another page here (or anywhere) this stuff reappears, exactly as before. If I click anywhere in the material, lots more immediately begins to pour in.It isn’t in the registry, like Gator ...what it is apparently, is a batch file somehow attached to the Explorer which runs every time the Explorer even twitches. Has anyone heard of this? Do I need to uninstall the Explorer? Please anser soonest! I dare to smile ... knowing this is actually a minor issue in the grand scheme ... Very respectfully jivajiva
This stuff can be a pain to get rid of, but try Spybot Search & Destroy. It's found at CNET in the Downloads section; do a search for spybot. It's freeware. After you install it run it and go to the Online section to update the signatures file, then just check for problems. It works quite well, and I run it regularly to keep that stuff off my system. You can also check the Run section of the system registry for unidentified applications, but that's not for beginners or the faint of heart.
Thanks! Smacks self on forehead with palm of hand. Of course! Get upset and viola I lose my mind! Edit: (What's left of it!) 10-4!! Respectfully jivajiva
