I just tried the trick of moving ext cam () to the activation line in one of my ***cab.sms files so I could hear the compressor running outside the locomotive. Works great! But, in the real world, even a sitting train loses air through leakage and the compressor cycles on periodically. So, I tried adding the TrainPipeLeakRate(0.083) line ..... thinking this would grop the main reservoir pressure from 140 to my 130psi restart point about every ten minutes. Nothing happened. Is this another one of the Kuju variables that never got enabled? krswen
>Is this another one of the Kuju variables >that never got enabled? Nope! this deals with the amount of leakage while you have the train in Lap or Hold... while in that configuration instead of in apply the brakes will gradually bleed off... this sets the rate at which that will happen.
>Sounds like it's implemented, but incorrectly. Why would >the brake pipe leak any less because of your brake valve >position? That's a very good point and yes I agree with you the res should lose pressure until the compressor restarts.. but it doesn't seem to work that way.Best Regards, Julian (Fozzy The Bear)
I just had this discussion over in the Sound Forum. http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID11/188.htmlThe conclusion we came to is that you cannot hear the compressor sound in any of the external views, using the usual pressure drop Triggers (#12 and #13). To test this, I made a long compressor sound (15 seconds), put the brakes in emergency, reset the brakes, heard the compressor kick in, went outside, no compressor sound, went back inside, compressor still running. One workaround, not very good, is to move the CabCam statement from under Deactivation, and place it under Activation, in the ***eng.sms file. This will, however, make ALL the cab sounds (i.e. switch clicks) play outside as well.If you can get the compressor to play outside any other way, please post the solution here, or better still, in the Sound Forum. Some MSTS steam locomotives have the compressor sound outside because they play the sound as part of the #14 and #21 Triggers. This is also a possible solution. But then the compressor sound will play outside with every brake application, rather than being cued by an air pressure drop.Stream ( Skip ( **** Train Brake **** ) Priority ( 5 ) Triggers ( 2 Discrete_Trigger ( 14 PlayOneShot ( 3 File ( "x_a380_airb_auto1.wav" -1 ) File ( "x_shaypump.wav" -1 ) File ( "x_a380_airb_auto1.wav" -1 ) SelectionMethod ( RandomSelection ) ) ) Discrete_Trigger ( 21 PlayOneShot ( 3 File ( "x_a380_airb_auto1.wav" -1 ) File ( "x_shaypump.wav" -1 ) File ( "x_a380_airb_auto1.wav" -1 ) SelectionMethod ( RandomSelection )
Hi all, Checkout the engine file of electric loco BB25660. Compressor triggered by aplication & discharge of brake line. Can be heard inside, outside. If you don't already have it see: http://ajtrainsim.free.fr/modeles.htm My Computer specs are in my profile Mike "
