I ran a long 95 car coal train with all the same hoppers on it. I am using 3d perfection sound files. The sound from the hoppers in the back of the train I can hear but from the middle of the train forward, no sound. Is there any solution to this problem? Thanks, paul

RE: coal car sound

It think you have run out of sound streams.
I would have to check at home but I think the 3D sound files use 3 or 4 streams per car, so if my maths is right 95 time 4 = nearly 400 streams plus locos and any scenic sounds (birds etc) you might have playing.
The solution, have a search in the forums for "improving sound quality" or something like that. MSTS sets the max number of streams in a global file. This can be increased (along with the amount of memmory reserved for same) as most PC sound cards can easily cope with more streams than MSTS thinks. I regularly run 50 to 60 car coal trains with no problems.Best of LuckAndy K
