SD70MAC cab – image 1

Is anybody currently working on an SD70MAC cabview similar to this attachment? I looked through the file library and didn't find any like that. Just curious, as I recently got a tour of a BNSF SD70MAC and got me wondering if there was anything like that available for MSTS yet. (Credit the photo to Al Krug)Jordan L.

RE: SD70MAC cab

There is a Cabview availble similar to that one from 3dtrainstuff.com. The cabview is in all of the SD70MAC's on the Cajon Pass route

RE: SD70MAC cab

The Cajon Pass cab also isn't as realistic.

I've been thinking about getting Cajon Pass. I had no idea that they built their own cabviews for their engines. That little bit of info just may push me to buy that route. Thanks for the info, guys.Jordan L.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-30-03 AT 03:19 AM (EDT)

Howdy Everybody,I wanted to mention that I started working on a SD70MAC cab awhile back and have been slowly chugging away at it since. I posted pictures of it awhile ago but the post didn't get many replies. But I'm not bitter. Anyway I have yet to add most of the controls levers. But almost everything else is done and working, then I just have to get permission to use all the stuff I snitched and upload it Power On,
Jerry

RE: SD70MAC cab

That looks good so far.I wish I had the time and skills to do this. How long before completion time.If you need someone to test it I'd be more than happy to give it a whirl.Keep up the good work. One request. Is it possible to darken the interior some.Looks too bright in there as it is now.

RE: SD70MAC cab

It looks way too deep for me... Would'nt it be better to have the horn, bell etc buttons beside the combined throttle?
(and make it brown... all EMD cabs I've seen have been brown)

RE: SD70MAC cab

I downloaded the SD90 cab for my CP Rail SD90 a few days ago and it included a non-CP cab for use in UP's. It looks pretty realistic and is better than the default dash9. Also has headout and conductor's views. I.ve installed it on my CSX789 and a NS SD70MAC I don't think they got any of Conrail's, but it looks good being used as a helper...that's what NS does with AC power since they're orphans.

RE: SD70MAC cab

So how is the cab coming along. You went silent on us.Did you try to correct some of the errors that were pointed out or have you shelved the cab all together?

Sorry Folks about the communication break down. I've had a few pressing family issues to deal with around here, plus I've been putzing a bit.
Eitherway I have attempted to incorporate some of your suggestions into the SD70 MAC cab without re-doing the entire thing. I left out the cup holder on the left side of the clip board. I hope nobody minds significantly. Also I forgot to put the alerter reset switch back when I took this picture but you can see it hasn't moved much (note: the shadow of the switch).
Anyway hope you enjoy. I will attempt to get back to work and have it done as soon as possible thank you for your constructive criticism and your paitence.Power On!
Jerry

RE: SD70MAC cab

That looks much better. Although it still seems a bit too deep compared to other cabs I've seen.. Try moving the displays further down and placing the controls at the bottom edge.
