A long, long time ago, in a country far, far away, I started work on an SD60 cab. It was put aside so that I could time travel into the past and build a steam cab for some old big steam thing... Anyway I have returned to this project...As all but Blind Freddy will note this is not finished; I need to locate the displays and controls in their correct positions and generally tweak the product.

Yes, I left the M off. I managed to put it in again with the different version in my second post!

RE: SD60 Cab progress

I have completed the EMD SD set and sent them to the NALW main workshop for packaging.A decision has to be made whether to release an "SD Cab" set or release them individually with individual locomotives as they are built. My preference is as a set, as there are plenty of SD's out there; the only problem with this idea is that a lot of the existing locos might need their eng file modified to add (or remove) the multi-controller command so the mouse controls the throttle properly. This might make it hard for some users to set the new cabs up properly. Dilema! I have completed a GP40 (which could stand in for an SD40, I believe), an SD50, an SD60 (stand), SD60M (analog desktop), SD70/80/90 digital desktop (with two screens). There are some concessions to keep everything looking like part of the original MSTS program but they are nice to use!

Sam, did you get those photos of the cab from Al Krug's website? If not, look at the photo cab tour, he gots a wide range of SD40s, GP60M/GP60B, SD70M, SD70MAC, SD90MAC-H, and just about all the versions of the Dash 9 cabs (didn't know there was 4 different versions for ATSF/BNSF. Also, he gots the "Modern" control stand version of NS units, some has an optional, user selectable screen (me like that idea)anywho.. i'm going back to sleep.

RE: SD60 Cab progress

The cabs are all very nice. But I have one request. Could you please replace that Dash 9 bell button with the horn button? As you can see from the photographs, all of the bell buttons are yellow, like the horn buttons.SD60 Cab progress – image 16

This should be more appropriate. As there is only one sander available I have added the emergency brake to the 'lead truck sand' position.

RE: SD60 Cab progress

Great stuff! Will they be available without the signal indicator also?
I'd really rather not have it since it would not be "as real as it gets" thanks
