There's a beautiful LU R Stock train on UK TrainSim and might be available on the file library here too. The model is excellent and includes very realistic opening doors...but unfortunately uses the 2000 cab. I've always loved these units, so I decided to try and make a realistic cab for it. After a bunch of research and hunting for cab photos (the TubePrune site was a great source), I'm getting close to completing the cab graphics. I couldn't find shots of the R Stock, so I've used the C Stock cab, which I believe to be very similar. Incidentally, this stock is "sub-surface" rather than "tube" stock, so it does see the daylight during parts of its runs. Attached below are 3 views straight from 3D Canvas & POV-Ray. I still need to work on some graphics details, the gauges, needles and lights and to create the animation frames for the controls. BTW, I'm using 50 deg for the left/right view angles. That seems to maximize the available window area. I'll also need to alter the ENG file to simulate the CTBC controller (combined traction/brake) which also uses blended dynamic and EP braking. I'm also going to try and find sound clips for it's very distinctive air compressor, motor and dynamics noises. So I'm maybe a week or two from completion. That said, here's some progress shots:DRIVER'S VIEW

RE: New London Underground C Stock cab in progress

They look very similar to the BVE ones but I think the controller is a bit to out. EDIT R stock cabs don't look like C stock cabs. C stocks csb look like 1967, 1972Mk1 and 1972Mk2 cabs. You could go to the Crotrainz forum and ask as most of them are British and they might have pictures of the cab.Are you going to make a C stock?

Good call - the CTBC could well be a bit out of position. I was working from a bunch of pictures and estimating as best I could. I'll likely move it away from the driver (forwards) a little before I'm done. Thanks for confirming what I felt. Incidentally, some of the pics I'm working from are shown in a post I wrote a few days ago here:

I've looked all over for R Stock cab views, but no go. Given the C69 Stock was also used on the District line during about the same era, I went with that. Also, the door controls on the driver's control desk were a 1986 modification for ATO/OPO purposes. With these anomalies, I hope my rendition at least captures the spirit of LU trains of that period, even if it's not exactly prototypical of R Stock.Regarding BVE -- the sounds used for the early LU trains are as close to realistic as my ears and memory can determine. Especially the dynamics and compressor. I'm going to try and use those WAV files in my version (if the original train and sound authors agree). Thanks, Jimi

>modification for ATO/OPO purposes.I think the R stock doesn't have OPO, it uses guards so maybe you could base the cabview of the 1972Mk1 version. But I think the 1938, 1959, A, 1960, 1962 stock cab will look more like R stock as I think R stock is two handled.
