Forum Burp

We know about the problem regarding the forum. I am not going to touch the threads until Nels says otherwise....I don't know how it happened and when it happened but the problem started sometime this morning and has been off and on. So until Nels speaks, me no touchy forumy. Good Fight, Good Night.

According to Nels some accounts were lost as the forum was restored from back-up. My account was one of them (I was previously railfan4ever)!

We're really not sure what happened but obviously the forum software had some problems yesterday. We tried to get it to rebuild itself, which worked the last time this happened but not this time. Ultimately we had to reload from a backup which lost several hours worth of messages and for some reason seems to restore some old anchored messages. Right now I believe it's back to normal, or at least as good as it's going to be.

Not sure how hard it would be but it wouldnt be a bad idea to find a more stable setting for the forums.Speaking from experience with my own forum i am trying to get up and running in my sig..and other boards I go to.Invision is a very good server for forums.Plenty of options and stable as can be.My Medal of Honor/Call of Duty group have had one of Invisions boards for over 3 yrs and never a burp yet.To see what they look like you can check out the one in my sig.And to top it off it can either be a free account or a pay account.

The weird stuff is, my account survived the forum burp, but today, two days AFTER the burp, I suddenly could no longer sign in.. Had to sign up anew, but strangely enough, when I did, my old private messages were still available..
Has there been another forum burp? Or was there another reason I was blocked from the forum, in case it was I'd like to know
