That would appear to be CP (Canadian Pacific). www.railpictures.net is a good place to post photos, but they have to be pretty good. I have about 2000 pictures of trains but only about 15 are good enough to make it on there, in either my opinion, or theirs.Tim Frost The Union Atlantic Railroad: Your stuff's important!
Thanks for the info Tim.I am familiar with Canadian Pacific but did not know they also use this flag logo.As for railpictures.net i have yet to post a picture that is not rejected.my pictures i took while we traveled through 11 states look fine to me.guess i'll keep looking for a website that is not so picky.
That appears to be a SD40, remember -- A GPxx has 4 axles, a SDxx has 6

I beleive that this unit is ex-CPR SD40 #5559 that was sold to Dakota Minnesota & Eastern Railroad in 1999 and subsequently renumbered to DME 6084. Which would explain why it was in Rapid City, South Dakota. - Andrew
Thanks for the info.i can see that the number has been repainted.I was actually driveing my escort down the freeway to go to the Air museum and got ahead of the train to get the photo. It must have been carrying a heavy load, because it was moveing pretty slow.
