What is the CN operation lifesaver whatever it is? – image 1

Today in Wheaton, I saw in the middle of a UP freight train. I saw it from the library, and with the trees, cars, and people, and with the small viewing range and the high speed of the train, I saw very little. I saw this blue rush, I say rush because I don't know if it was an engine, as a thought I saw a hood, with the words Operation Lifesaver and CN. It was very clean and freshly painted. Is it an engine or a boxcar and what is it doing with UP?Thanks!

Operation Lifesaver teachs people not to rush to beat the train, there goal is to minimize Train-vehicle collisions and fatalities

well if it has CN markings it's a safe bet CN owns it, and as for why it's on the UP, you know rolling stock always gets mixed everywhere, especially In Chicago

Yeah, I noticed a container too but for CPRNice painting on it, now, due to it coming through at bad times... I ye to have pics of it... Although I saw it twice in one week.It says Can Pac Rai on one end and then on the 40ft box part it has a crossing etc and some words for direction 2006, then the CPPU markings on the other end.Chris Wilson

The 6401 is a GP40 (GP40AC?) built in 1968 for the Detroit, Toledo, & Ironton Railroad (orginally numbered 401). I beleve a GTW blue/red version of 6401 is in the Train-sim.com file library.Greg
