I'm generally speaking a BVE person as well as MSTS now that they have brought out many more exciting add-ons for the South of England. But yesterday I spotted a Auran Passenger edition in the shops and it looked quite good. What Im trying to say is what is Trainz and how good is it compared to BVE and MSTS?Is it worth spending the money on?And since I only enjoy driving British Route (especially Southern Thrid Rail) and I was wondering if Auran accompanied this and if there were routes available.Any screenshots and responses to this would be brilliant. Thanks Francis Oldfield
Hi Francis --Since I'm mainly interested in freight operations on US and Australian routes I'm probably not the person to answer the second part of your question. If you do want a response, I'd suggest the place to go is the Trainz Forum. Follow this link and look for "Forum" toward the top right of the page:http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/default.htmThe first part I can respond to: "what is Trainz and how good is it compared to BVE and MSTS?" - I bought Trainz just over a year ago, thought it was highly overrated, and uninstalled it from my PC.I revisited it again some time later, and have now been progressively seduced by it.It's not up to me to say whether it is better or not; but I can say with complete certainty that I find it much more enjoyable, for a whole variety of reasons, than any of the competing train simulations. If you do want some visual impressions, do a search in the Screenshot Forum here under "philskene" as the author. You will find many screen shots, for example:http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID15/5190.htmlOne additional thought - the version of Trainz sold in the UK by the distributor has a copy protection scheme that requires the CD to be in the drive. The version sold by Auran on their Web site does not.Cheers, Phil
