The intercity 125(class 43) has 10 throttle notches but in the config file only the first 5 have any data associated with them. I am assuming that the rest are somehow created using internal default information. This brings me to another point......... It seems that in the trainz universe top speed is governed by what?? I dunno...The throttle section in the engine config file handles acceleration and there are other entries concerning friction and such but nowhere does it mention horsepower or anything else like that. Now I managed to get an SD-40 running by itself up to over 200 mph on a test route I built. My conclusion can only be that the limit to top speed is based only(or primarily) on the mass of the rest of the train. Also, witht the intercity125 I went into the engine config file and(after saving a backup) removed all the throttle/acceleration settings. Guess what??? The train still got up to over 70mph even with these changes. And yeah, I was running in cab mode. The intercity 125 could quite possibly breach the sound barrier if it ran by itself on a test route. It is just really bizzare.....
