RE: MSTS loco ported across to Trainz - the D50

Unfortunately John didn't have any experience of animating steam valve gear, so he rebuilt the wheels from the Trainz steam loco sample.Hopefully I'll get the original MSTS running gear working properly in the next few months.

RE: MSTS loco ported across to Trainz - the D50

I just exported some of my locos from 3DC in .3ds format.
If you are lucky you may be able to import this file in gmax and
do some adjustments, i.e. setting helper points for bogeys.
But sometimes gmax told me that the .3ds file exported from 3DC
had an invalid format.
I bought a conversion program ( cost about 40$) to convert various 3D formats from one type into an other one. So I transfered .3ds to .3ds. Gmax likes this converted file. The texturing coordinates are preserved, but the names of the texture files are lost.
But it's an easy task to assign the texture files to the materials. Have a nice day
