Hi folks I'd like to start looking around the Trainz add-ons sites (both freeware and commercial addons) to see whats available and whats needed. I would be most thankfull if some one could respond with a list of some of the better sites!!! So far ive only done add-ons for MSTS (using TSM), but now I'm in the process of assimilating GMAX so I can export my models to any simulator. I hope to make my models available to the TRAINZ crowd as well as the MSTS crowd (and TATS and TMTS as well). I plan to offer both freeware addons of the highest caliber along with large commercial industrial structure groups for purchase (such as complete Chemical and refinery kits, entire integrated steelmill buildings kits, powerhouse kits, Cement, Grain & Mining complexs..you name it)By working in GMAX, my commercial objects can be sold/used in various simulators thereby lowering the licensing and/or purchase price of a structure/kit for any given simulator. Here is a sample of a commercial Refinery kit for MSTS (available on Rich Garbers Canton-Suddenly route).....a kit version for Trainz would be reasonably priced and would have a much greater variety of pieces/structures/tanks etc.Oh,and BTW...I make good use of TGA textures to minimize polycount so My structues appear to be poly-hogs but actually have reasonable counts....the framerates around this refinery are just as good as the rest of the route. A central distillation unit with 7 towers, furnace with stack, 3 horizontal tanks, highly detailed heat exchanger unit and numerous pipes, catwalks, stairs and caged ladders is only 4500 polygons!!! Suddenly refinery tankcar loading tracks...

Hi Bill –As a suggestion, for payware sites go to the Trainz "Forum" (top right) at http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/And then go to the “Payware 3rd Party Content”.This is the place where most developers showcase their wares. For interest, see the latest developments in locomotives by Phil_C. It is truly amazing what can be done.VMD also has interesting free and payware.I look forward to seeing your contributions.Phil

Bill -Good to see that you made it safely across to the Dark Side.I also forgot to say that most of the Trainz freeware is on the Trainz Download Station (same address as above), but I guess that you have worked this out by now. It's a bit more difficult than train-sim to find specific assets, and if you are serious about Trainz a "First Class" download ticket is essential. You should also check out the LARS information on the TrainzPro site. And yes, I agree, that iron works is looking damn good!Phil
