Macey –I’ve had similar problems with some steam locos in Trainz2004. A few work fine, like the double and triple bogie Shays, but others like the Climax do not.But I find that they all seem to work perfectly with DCC control, though I hate DCC!Does this apply to the Garrett?I’ve very new to the Trainz scene, and am still feeling my way around. I have the thought that if I can get the Climax to call up the Shay loco file then the Climax may work correctly. I’ll report back if it does.Phil

Sorry I can't really help. I know others have had the same problem. I think the engine is in need of an update. You might want to do a search for the garret over at the auran forum for an answer. I hope that helps.RegardsAXE

MaceyThe following process might help if you have not solved your problem with the Garrett.I wanted to increase the power and speed of the West Side Shay.I thought that an appropriate model was a RS3, so I downloaded the D&H RS3 from the Download Station.TrainzObjectz told me that the root kuid for the RS3 is 52779:4128 and the config.txt in this folder told me that the enginespec kuid is 52779:50001.Likewise, the root kuid for the Shay is 86661:12, but this calls up 86661:51012 for the enginespec. So all I did was edit the 86661:12 config.txt file and replace 86661:51012 with 52779:50001 (it is referenced twice in the .txt file). Now the Shay performs as a RS3, which is what I want. For your particular issue with the Garrett, I’d suggest choosing a diesel locomotive that does work and has the characteristics that you want, and follow a similar procedure to the above.I think that sounds can be handled in the same way.Tell me how you go and if it is successful.Phil
