New York Penn Station Released - Lots of Screens

As many of you have seen on these and the Auran Forums I've been working on the many routes in the New York Metro Area on one map for Trainz.The entire route which includes Grand Central, Newark, NJ and tons more will be released once TRS2004 comes out, but in the meantime I am releasing a small portion for users to add to existing layouts or just play around with.The New York Penn Station Module contains, Penn Station, Northeast Corridor from the station to the New Jersey Meadowlands, and the West Side Empire Corridor Connector from Penn Station to the North End of Manhattan Island.The module contains actual landmarks from NYC including One Penn Plaza, the George Washington Bridge and more.It will be uploaded to the Auran Download Station tomorrow evening and should be available for download from that location towards the end of the week.EnjoyHere is the disclaimer:
1. You may use this module as part of your own layouts. The module cannot be part of any payware route or content for Trainz. 2. The module may not be altered in anyway other than to connect tracks to an existing layout.3. Credit must be given to the original author whenever the module is used. Creator User ID - NYOW20004. Awesome ! Cant wait to see it on the DS How large is the file just out of curiosity.. ?Do you have and use ASM ? (Asset Seeker Manager from http://www.trainzproroutes.com ) If so, Could you please do a 'list map dependencies' and paste the list into here It will help to know prior to downloading any map, just whats on it.. Perhaps we could get a sticky thread from the forum mods.. Something much like this one http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID13/9.html except for us here in trainz.. The more info about the route.. The higher the quality in my eyes I wont download a route if it needs more than a 100 different objects to get it to run, This is simply my own personal problem due to running a very small hard drive and allready pushing it with close to 4 gig of content, Which with so many 1000's of items allready installed, I figure no matter whats on someones routes.. I should have the majority of it, And well.. I do have cable and the DS can be like a candy store at times so that doesnt help
It'll also help should an Item become hard to find Somehow(tm)
Then again.. I could always run ASM on it Cheers again..Catchya

well you've done it...looks like i'm gonna have to buy trainz 2004. you sucked me in with those shots..one question however. how did you model the turns? are they smooth as in real life or do you feel slammed to the side of the train when you hit them?

Well,
As for the frame rates, depending on your system they can be choppy in certain areas.For one is the Park Avenue Viaduct area, due to the amount of scenery there, Framerates do go down.As for the curves, they are normal. There are some curves that are tight but that is due to the space limitations in NYC.Enjoy

Unfortunately this route or any custom route won't work with the demo.I downloaded the Demo here at work to play around with during the little spare time I have at the office.I also downloaded some custom content and it will say installed but it won't actually show up in the Demo

i have been waiting for a NEw York City route for a LONG time! I am very pleased with the photos of this route...Is it compatible with TRS2004? Does it include the Hell Gate Bridge? Thanks!

Well, if I had needed convincing that I MUST HAVE TZ-RS 2004 then this Thread would have done it ! On thing missing is interior lighting in that Station ? It's not really without any lights on the ceiling ? O t t o.

To answer some questions. It doesn't contain anything east of Penn Station, therefore no Hell Gate Bridge.There are no overhead lights in the station. Unfortunately since there are no spline lights to hang from the ceiling I couldn't give that effect.The station is not as dark as it seems, the screenshots make it look darker.I do have to install some platform lights though due to it being very dark at night hours. For now, just think that Amtrak didn't pay their electric bill.
