Well, After a good deal of working and thinking, I've decided to start a Trainz modeling group. This group is designed for modelers to build route modules and share them with others, modules which can be incorporated into a larger route or used as a route itself.Since this is the place for Trainz, I'll post the rules and standards here. As with N track, all Trainz modules produced should follow a set of standards. The first and foremost standard is that all modules must have a double track main line (standard guage) placed with the outside edge of the outside track one square (in surveyor) from the edge of the baseboard. In cases where more than one baseboard (but no more than four) are used, curves may be incorporated, but the exiting track must again be one square from the edge. What happens within the baseboard is left up to the modeler.1.) Routes do not need to be signaled. Since the modules could be used alone, there's no real reason to have to signal the outside tracks. Furthermore, these outside tracks do not have to connect to the trackage inside the baseboard either. This allows for standard guage track on the outside, and a small narrow guage layout within.2.) Poly counts should be kept to a minimum.3.) Scale should be modeled in O scale.4.) All dependencies must be listed by Kuid in the readme file.5.) Corner units should be made in blocks of 2 with a total of 180 degrees in the turn.6.) Era should be specified in the readme file, but it doesn't have to be the same as adjoining modules.7.) Modules should be interchangable.8.) Switches on the main line should be as gradual as possible, and kept to a minimum in number.
That's what I have so far. If anyone wants to take part in this, please email me at magicklocoworks@yahoo.com with your email in the contents so I can get back with you.
