Hello Again,
I am looking for some highly detailed track to use on my route. I don't care how much it taxes frame rates, I'm making mostly a screen shot route.

RE: Highly Detailed Track

Depends on the kind of track you want Dan. I got all my NG stuff from the download station, but somewhere I dug up some really super detailed dual guage stuff.I realise that's not what you need, but I seem to remember Standard guage track being on that same site. I may have bookmarked it, so lemme see if I can find it again.

RE: Highly Detailed Track

I am a TRACKS FAN ! The kind of quality and variety provided by XTracks in MSTS and it's many variations of AcleanTrack1 & 2, soon to get even better in the SURFLINER Route.Anybody know where there are pictures of the new TRAINZ Railroad Simulator 2004 Track System to be seen, especially what Switches / Points look like ? The GRAPHICS of the scenery in that scene at: http://www.auran.com/games/TRS2004/default.htm look superb !Any idea when it will be released on CD ? No chance downloading it to here in the U.K. ! Can't find any hints on the AURAN sites, still being a member, having purchased TRAINZ before. Thanks, O t t o.

P.S.: Screen shot.Just noticed that they have removed the picture I grabbed from this Web Page some time go: http://www.auran.com/games/TRS2004/default.htm. Highly Detailed Track – image 6Any idea why ? Is it because it does not reflect what this scene in TSM-2004 really looks like and is somewhat enhanced ? Hope not, this looks really good !!!O t t o

RE: Highly Detailed Track

Thanks for that Link, Tom.If these are shots from a 3rd party Route created by the current TRAINZ than I am looking forward to those the new Railroad Simulator 2004 should be capable of ! What's the latest regarding a release date ? And the same old question being asked, is this new version compatible with existing 3rd party TRAINZ Routes, Rolling Stock and these excellent Tracks shown here and on other TRAINZ sites ?O t t o

RE: Highly Detailed Track

That track beats MSTS's, SURFLINER excepted perhaps. Even got proper guide rails opposite the frogs and great looking DOUBLE-SLIPS, accurate profiling and track beds too.The 1 meter gauge track would look great in a Swiss Railway Route ! Looks exactly like the one in a picture SWISSIE posted recently !Are they available with with TSM-2004 or do they need to be downloaded separately like the MSTS Add-On Track Acleantrack texture variations, XTracks and others ? Installing them, would they apply to all track in TSM-2004 the same as the various textures in MSTS ?There is so much to learn again and from what I am reading on the Auran site, providing most of what I asked for in my "MSTS Wish List", integrated Activities creation, multi-train operations and most important FREEDOM to do as you like if you wish ! Downside, has just gone in BETA testing and no indication when it will be available ? O t t o

RE: Highly Detailed Track

I downloaded the Hungarian track and it is excellent. Can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to replace default track with this track? I've tried to use Tmos, Map Object Switcher but have not been able to switch track textures in other routes. Every time I execute the program it scans but never loads custom content.

I suspect that it becomes overly complicated if you decide to change Aurans simple points, which are really only two overlapping track splines, with proper switches, with frogs and check rails. I have a layout that I just started converting, with British mb track switches. What I am doing is replacing almost every switch by hand. When I am finished, I hope that I will then be able to switch the remaining track using such a tool
Cheers

RE: Highly Detailed Track

Rod,I hope that the Default Track and Points/Switches which come with TZ-RS 2400 look as good as the 3rd party ones mentioned in this thread and if not can be substituted ?Have ordered my RS-2004 and hope I am not going to be disappointed with the appearance of the Default Tracks like I was with those in the original version of TRAINZ !O t t o

RE: Highly Detailed Track

Hello Otto
I guess all I can say about that, is that plenty of screen shots have been published, and I think most agree its an improvement. The great thing about it of course is the Jet2 engine really does brighten the screen up a lot. I in fact tend to use the new controls to darken it a bit )))
Auran and msts too, tend to worry about the frame rates too much for my liking, although I must admit my P4- 3.0g with 800fsb dual channel memory and a Gforce 4600 128 meg can stretch things a bit further. Both Auran and M$ live in the real World where most of their dollars are coming fromm peeps with Duron 1200's. In that way we are indeed fortunate that we got great people out there that provide us with such lovely custom content to make both sims look so magnificent
Cheers
Rod
