hi firstly im new to Auran Trainz so i dont know where to start!!! im a big fan of MSFS2002 and ive just got Auran Trainz UTC (2 CD's) as a gift. now i know its too late in the day to play this since the new version is gonna come out but a gift is a gift!!!!anyways i cant startup trainz at all it keeps crashin when i select lauch trainz!!!!!!!! MY PC CONFIG IS P3 800 MHz 128MB RAM Intel 810e Motherboard Graphics on board 20 GB HDD Direct X 8.1but it still crashes givin me some cpplog error regarding graphics!!i dont know wot to do so id be grateful if someone here can get me rolling!!!! also i dont know how to use the utilities in CD2 i think it only has paintshop also where can i use the surveyor/driver etc which is shown on CD2im sorry if a question like this has been posted brfore but i cant understand wot to do (i just keep starin at the icon on screen) LOL i have MSTS and it runs fine!!!!!!and oh yeah i got this 2 CD pack from my friend who left for america and so i had to download the CD Key from one of the sites and when i tried registering it i got an email sayin g some crap of attempt to register a wrong key or something............and since im from India i dont know wot to do now!!!!!!!PLZ help!!!!!!Thanx a lot Sheldon

Sheldon,Sounds like you might have a graphics/driver incompatiblity. I had the same problem in reverse. I tried to load MSTS and it crashed my system. I exchanged it for UTC and it works like a charm. Have you checked to see if your video card/chip-set drivers are up to date? If not, check on Auran's website. They have a section to help you get the driver for some of the more popular cards. If you're like me and you have some obscure chip-set (my system uses S3 Prosavage8 chipset and I had the latest driver out there) you might be out of luck. As far as the CD key, if your friend already registered the game using the CD key, you might be out of luck. You can only register it once. If thats the case, try emailing Auran and see if there is anything they will do to help you out. I'm guessing that you'll have to cough up some money like the rest of us.Its definitely a cool sim. Hope you get it going.Bill
Hey there Bill thanx for the reply i guess its no use emailin Auran coz i dont have the exact details my friend may have given them if he has already registered it anyways Bill could the problem be that i have an onboard 4MB AGP which comes with the intel 810E motherboard??? Auran wants a min 16MB i think so is this why it doesnt run???Thanx for the help!! Really AppreciatedSheldon
Hello, I had the same setup until I upgraded my video card to a Radeon 7000 with 64 meg video ram. Now I get acceptable frame rates and the card can be found for $50 dollars and under.

The onboard graphics isn't intended for high-end games. Next, Auran HAS re-assigned a serial number for someone; however, you'll be best off maybe waiting for TS2004 in the latter part of the year. I guarantee that you won't be very happy with the system you have. You need more muscle than that to really enjoy Trainz. Just my $0.0002 worth.
