I had a bad experience trying to run MSTS on my system, not compatible with my video card/driver, had latest driver loaded out, etc, but a NO-GO. (Athlon 1600+ 1.4Ghz, 256MB DRAM, S3 ProSavage8 32MB on-board video chip, WXP-Home) OK, I know that to get really good graphics I would want a bigger video card, but I'm not looking for info on that. I'm going to leave my system the way it is, I'm just looking for stuff that will work on my system the way it is set up now. I loaded out the Demo version of Trainz UTC and it works pretty well on my system. I started out with all the sliders moved almost all the way to the left, so its a little hookey, but I'm playing with that. The main thing is that it WORKS.My question is, if I know the Demo works with my video driver, and I buy the full version of UTC, will it also definitely work? Should I uninstall the Demo before I load out the full version? Does the full version come with really good documentation, like for complete idiots? The readme that came with the Demo has me scratching my head a little (like how do you uncouple from the slag cars after you bring them back from the dump?)Many thanx in advance, Guys.Bill

RE: The Usual Dumb Newbie Questions

As Georgi said the offical site pretty much covers everything you need to know, and the Auran guys post there regularly. To uncouple a trailer there is either an icon on the lower right hand side of the screen that looks like a coupler. Click on that and it high lights red. then click on the carrage you want to unhook. Or press the D key and press on the carrage you want to unhook.RegardsAXE

RE: The Usual Dumb Newbie Questions

Hey, Guys,Many thanks for the heads up. I was overwhelmed at the amount of info on the "Tutorials" link. The walkthrough was a big help too. I went out last night and bought the full version of UTC, but I think I'm going to stay in the Demo for a few more days, and start wading through all the info. Like, for example, I had figured out the "D" key for uncouple, but it didn't occur to me that you had to tell it which cars to uncouple. Duh??? I've got a lot to learn. Again thanks for your help. Bill

RE: The Usual Dumb Newbie Questions

Ahh, another person pulled in into Trainz world.
Forget friends, wife, kids, girlfriend and so on.
Once you go Trainz you can never go back.
People have been telling Auran to put some warning signs on to get away with any sues.

RE: The Usual Dumb Newbie Questions

Have to say here, there aren't any DUMB newbie posts. There ARE newbie posts and those of us who are more knowledgeable are usually glad to help. As has been stated many times on NUMEROUS forums, try "Search" first, then post and see how many helpful responses you get. I used to post here when I used M$TS but have been over at Trainz for quite some time now. I'll try to check in more often now that I'm retired.
