I just downloaded and installed some content from Trainz download station, however the following error messages come up in the error log."train reskin asset downloads/kuid 60318 3303 is missing its original assett(<KUID:-10:194>)"Would appreciate some clues on how to fix this.thanks in advance

The asset you noted is a Paint Shed skin. You need Paint Shed installed to use it.Steam

I'm just getting started with Trainz. I find that with most locos I download there are more than one component to be downloaded. That isn't always clear, so I end up with repeated errors until I eventually download them all. Even the error log doesn't tell me all that are missing the first time. For example, the first time it will tell me "xyz" is missing. After I get and install "xyz" it tells me "abc" is missing, and so forth.I'd like to know if there's a better way.Cheers, Al KUID's – image 3

Al,Go to our site at: http://www.trainzproroutes.com/ASM.shtml Download our Asset Seeker Manager 1.0c. If you need any help with setting ASM up, come back here or, better yet, post a message in our forum and we'll give you all the help you need.What ASM does is finds all the missing dependencies for Routes, Scenarios, Traincars and Other assets and allows you to batch download and batch install missing assets. Unlike UTC's built in manager, it also allows you to find assets that are not on Download Station. Please note that it will not locate missing Paint Shed assets for Paint Shed reskins as those are located in the Paint Shed program, itself, and are not downloadable.Steam

Thanks. I put ASM on my system last night, but I'm still reading the manual. I suspect I've done something wrong. I installed PaintShed but have not focused on it in any way. I probably won't get back to this before the weekend.One thing I don't understand is when I get the message that tells me there are things missing and I should click something or other to go online and get the missing parts, I get another message once online telling me I'm not connected (I am) or the login info is wrong (it can't be unless Auran screwed up). Well, I see one thing I've done wrong. I should be using the FTP password (that Trainz assigns) in ASM. I was using the UTC serial number. I spotted the FTP PW when I was downloading something.Al KUID's – image 6

locoman 244,Those KUID's that start with a "-" sign are built in assets which are locked in Trainz .ja files. Have you tried reinstalling Paint Shed?Steam

Well that fixed the lil devils..........all of em........reinstalled paint shed and all the gremlins dissappeared and all my new content showed up in its right place.
