I received my Auran UTC yesterday and in reading through the small manual that comes with the sim and the on line docs, I failed to find any help when it comes to importing engines and cars similar to that in MSTS. I have a number of engines and rolling stock that I have downloaded and purchased from sites such as 3DTrains, Trainartisans, etc. Has anyone found a way to incorporate these pieces of equipment into UTC? Thanks, Jesse
You can not use MSTS in Traniz/UTC thay are not conpatabul. You can remake from one to the other but it is almost faster to redo and only the one who made it can convert it.
Thank You. That is the answer I was looking for. I bought UTC sight unseen and have not had Trainz nor any other Auran product. I will be staying with MSTS since I can import other products into it. UTC goes back in the box and on the closet shelf. For those of you who like Trainz I would say go for it, but I personally don't like it. Jesse
Well you can not use the MSTS versions but check the download station at www.auran.com. There you will find many downloads, which are even a lot easier to import than with Trainz.I have both, and belong to a team which makes rolling stock for both, and i find the import proces much easier than with MSTS. And before you make an opinion based on one reply here i suggest you should look at the Auran forum! André www.mstrainstop.com andre@mstrainstop.com
You can actually import MSTS models into Trainz, but you would need the permission of the orginal creator of that object, and the 3dmax file.I find it hard to believe any Rail fan buying a product like Trainz, then not using it, becuase the models don't import straight into the game. Besides it isn't as if you can import models from Car games into one another.
