i am debating buying trainz to go along with MSTS but i have a few questions before i decide.
1.) cabviews. i see that Trainz origionally comes with a lot of engines. do each of the engines come with their own cabview or do most share a cab? also i have the demo and the f unit cab is great. can i expect the same out of the others?2.) i have looked at auran.com and have seen updates like SP3 listed.
are the updates also sold seperatly like paintshed and others or are they free downloads?3.) multiplayer. i have seen several pages in auran stating that they have mutiplayer capabilities? does anyone know about this?Well that is all i can think of right now. any help here would be appreciated.

RE: Question For Trainz members.

Here it goes by numbers 1. Rather than 2D cab as in MSTS, Trainz uses complete 3D cab. You can look around 360 degrees.
Since 3D cab takes long time to make and a lot more complicated than 2D,
similar loco types share the cabs rather than having seperate one.
So it's either low visual qualiy 2D and all Locos having different Cab(MSTS),
or high visual quality 3D with fewer and shared Cabs.(Trainz)2. SP3(v1.3) was a free. At point of SP3, most of so called "bugs" have been fixed.
Auran will be releasing Ultimate Trainz Collection in november,
which will be v1.5, include mreo Locos, more scenery, and patinshed.
THe price will be same as current 1.3, so it is best to wait untill Ultimate Trainz collection is relesed and buy it.
(just so you know, to be fair to current 1.3 Trainz owners, they offer Prox. $10 USD voucher,
+ another $10 voucher if you own Paintshed as well)3. Not yet but it will happen. However, this will be pretty far away,
and I think it's even safe to say we will have to wait more than a year for this.I hope this answered some of your questions.
One thing I can say for sure is that you won't be disapointed,
and make sure you say farewell to all people you know
before you start up Trainz for the 1st time Georgi

RE: Question For Trainz members.

With SP3 came a few different CAB views as well, so it adds more variety. and I would say that there may even be a few more Cabs included with UTC as well. If you have any problems with Trainz, tech or other, drop over to Aurans Fourm and post your questions there. They helped me when I was a newbie.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-12-02 AT 00:52 AM (EDT)

Downloaded SP3 and everything is working good. i only have two more questions for now. a while back i heard that after you derail you can put the engine back on the track without restarting. if so what is the procedure for that. is there a way to export a project from TSM to Gmax?
thanks for the help.nighthawk1

There have been suggestions to enable this, and I belive Auran will bring it to us sometimes in future.>is there a way to export a project from TSM to Gmax? I dont think it is possible to do so.
