I have a Pentium3 700mHz, 128 ram and a creative geforce 256.
Can/Should I buy trainz?
How many of you have equals or worse computers and play trainz?
At what resolution and configuration?
What framerate you get?Thanks,
Cristóvão

RE: minimum requeriments

If you look at Auran's site, they list the minimum and the recommended. The minimum really is minimum! I mean minimum. Can I say that again? Minimum. You will have all the sliders down to the bottom in order for it to operate nicely. Even at that, you could have some serious problems with some of the larger routes.Personally, I would say that the recommended specifications that are given is really the minimum!Realize this, however. Whereas Microsoft Train Simulator really likes RAM and requires lots and lots of RAM, Trainz is more interested in your video card. You must have an nvidia video card, which you do, so that is not a problem.Lawrence

RE: minimum requeriments

When I first got Trainz I had a P2 350 with a Voodoo 3500 card, and Trainz ran ok, but the Voodoo was not supported and the graffics were screwed. I don't know if a Geforce 2 would have been better, but I desided to do the upgrade thing anyway because I wanted Trainz real bad.I now have a P4 1.7 with a Geforce4400ti and it is silky smooth, as it should be. I can run realy large layouts now with 5-8 consists all running simulaniously.I did have a geforce 2mx400 for a few months before I got the geforce4 and it wasn't too bad, I could run 2 or 3 consists with smooth FPS and most layouts ran smooth.RegardsAXE
