Hi, I picked up Trainz because I've had enough of that defective excuse of a program MSTS. Anyway I installed Trainz 2 different times and I get the same error then it shuts down. This happens after I click on the icon and then choose "launch trainz"First I get: File: D:\src\trainz\core\kernel\trainzlog.cpp line: 46 class:trainz error reason: unable to start trainz please check your configuration no stack available. Why is it listing a "D" drive?? I have a D drive but I installed Trainz to "C" drive. Then I get a second error something like this:class: hardware reason: access violation c:\program files\auran\bin\kernel.dllAny ideas what I should do?? I don't want to get into this game if it is as unreliable as MSTS. Is it?? My first impression of this game is not a good one.My specks are: pent 3 1 Ghz 512 megs geforce2 64 meg Thanks, MIKE
Open Trainz, Select Configure Trainz, go to Advanced Options, and set Refrash Rate: Vertical Sync and Frequency to "Auto" See if that will do the trick.Georgi
I also had the Fatal Error problem: After some correspondance with the Auran help team I downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers for win XP, Trainz still failed!! At Aurans suggestion I ordered the service pack 3 which is now on the way. Whilst checking through my video card driver update I noticed OpenGL had been installed with it, this is not part of the WinXP standard install. I reconfigured Trainz to run with OpenGL instead of DirectX 8.1, and all now works, hope this is of help
