Sep-17-01, 03:06 PM (EST) "Changing coupler height" Can anyone tell me if there is a way to change the coupler height? I have noticed that some of the cars have couplers that are to low and I would like to readjust them.
Thanks. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-18-02, 00:59 AM (EST) 1. "RE: Changing coupler height" I have just noticed this as well.Editing the model using the appropriate 3D modeling program (3d Studio Max, Train Sim Modeler, or 3d Canvas Pro), is the only way. The coupler height/position can then be adjusted and the model re-exported to MSTS for use. However, if you don't have the original model project file, then you can't make the modifications. Unless there is some way to "de-compile" or import the .s and .sd files into your 3d modeling program? Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-18-02, 02:07 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Changing coupler height" I dont know much about 3D work, but doing this might mess up the texture maping on or arround the coupler on some modles. Or am i wrong? I mostly notice the coupler on most of the cabooses made are lower then most of the couplers on freight cars, but i dont pay that much attention to them. But the reason they are off is because when differnt people make modles they dont all use the same height on everything, which im sure you guys have figured that out already.Trevor
