Would someone please explain how to create a blank or greyscale file for reskinning? Although there are references to "greyskin" in the manuals, I have not been able to find a good explanation of this process. I use Paint Shop Pro 7, but the process should be similar to other graphics programs.

RE: Creating a Blank Skin

I think they are talking about texturing with the orthographic drawings of the object (without the colors).Take the side, top and front view drawings, minus the dimensions and texture with those (I think).I'm a structures person, not a rolling stock (well, maybe laughing-stock) person. But I have no credibility

RE: Creating a Blank Skin

I've always done it by first using "desaturate" in Photoshop which reduces the present skin to a grayscale. Then you begin the task of wiping out the logos and paintlines by grabbing pieces of the clean skin and laying them on top of the logos and such. Once you get the surface "clean" you can change the whole surface to any shade of gray you like. Anyone with an easier method please speak up.I'm always muttering to myself "there must be a better way". My way does work if you are careful, but does take some time.
