I just finished repainting a set of BNSF SD40 in Heritage and Patched locos.
They all have working ditch lights and Phisics by Bob Boudoin.

I remember, when Dekosoft brought out their BNSF Mainline Pack, everybody was bitching at the Heritage colors.Now, these don't look right to. Please don't take it as bashing your model, IMHO, I think the orange is far too intensive and the green only looks like this on freshly painted locos. If you'd tone them a bit down, it'll look way better.Then, I won't comment on the headlights, because I dun have info on them. Yet, a bit of polygon rounding would look awesome on that model.Apart from those minor things, they look good... Cheers!Sebastian

The only thing wrong with the headlights is that BNSF's are cut from the top of the nose down, rather than cut into the nose , like CSX AdamOther than that they are very nice

Hi SebastianBefore repaintinting I surveyed the photos of the Heritage I Sd40,s.As only 3 units were painted, not too many photos are available.The colors I used were copied / pasted from the BNSF 6319 real photo available. I decided not to fade the colors as well as I did with my previous repaints of Union Pacific and Burlington Northern.Talking about the headlights, The model I used for the repaints is an ATSF and the nose headlight is slightly down compared to the BNSF style. To move it to where Adams want it, to the top of the nose, is a question of changing the .s file and I am not able to do that.Regards

Very nice SD40-2's, really neat. They have really nice cabs. The download is about 25mb. Worth every dime of the cost to me. Thanks for the fine work. I have them busy operating on David Phipps Sweet Grass Sub. Thanks to all.

In response to message # 11My repaints are SD40´s non Dash 2, the first genaration, with different styles of trucks, and brake system, as the prototypes are.Some are brake lever equiped, some are brake wheel on pedestal.
Trucks reflect 2 low and 2 hi cylinder styles.Each model painted as per photographs.Lucio

He based the colors from photos he took. The post had nothing to do with SD40s. It was about Heritage colors.Later

Another one being sooo touchy about comments on his work. You sell repaints - fine. I tell you what. Make yours look as good as Pete's and I'll might have a look at them. But right now, they look better and have definitely the better cost:value ratio. But that is just my opinion as paying customer... Cheers!Sebastian

To SebastianAs you said, it is your opinion.Not sooo touchy about comments on my work.What surprises me is that the repaints are of SD40´s and by any reason some SD40-2 appeared as samples.Also I do not understand how you can evaluate value ratio, if you, I assume did not buy the pack. Again I can not understand how you can judge my work, comparing to Pete´s work without having it .AH.......you judge by the photos....Again, it is just a question of opinion.Is it???????????????????Lucio Moreira

Bryan is right. My response to the post was in regards to all the crap I took about my H1 colors. Your colors are fine. I see BNSF locos every day and the truth is "NO TWO LOOK THE SAME". They all have different shades etc., etc,. As for you colors, experiment with noise (1-3 setting for me) and saturation levels. Do what looks good to you the artist! People can beat on me because I get paid for units like the Decosoft packs.

When I don't like a shade an author picked, I adjust the shade in PhotoShop by using this method.1. Convent ace with TGATool2.exe to a tga file.2. Load image into PhotoShop.3. Go to Select Color-Range.4. Select color to Change.5. Adjust Fuzziness6. Copy selected color.7. Paste selected color.8. Go to Image Adjustments & use what tools you want to get the desired effect.9. Load tga into MakeACEWin.exe & convert 10. View with Shape Viewer.11. Repeat until you get the desired effect. Later
