Hi ‘Clovis’,Welcome!! To repaint…, you need any paint software. Seems the program of choice PSP.8. I use Dogwaffle myself, it’s a free download. Also you’ll need to download (free)Tgatool2 http://fly.to/mwgfx/ . Prepare yourself for a short period of grief and aggravation until you get the hang of it.As for modeling…, sorry, my learning curve hasn’t arrived there yet. However, you will find several programs mentioned and some very talented individuals here in the forum. You may want to search the archives initially.Have a sparkling day, Bob

IMHO, you need first to read the anchored post at the top of this Forum. It will give you lots of advise on how to proceed. I'm not so sure about PSP8, I think most people start off w/ PSP7. Of course, neither is now available as Jasc is now at PSP9. I haven't seen any posts about how it works. Paul.

As far as building your own intermodal cars, try posting that question in the Locomotive Design forum. They should have some good advise about programs for building railroad cars.Mark

Just a note on PSP8, most if not all of the wonderful reskining tutorials deal with PSP6, so some differences (especially masks) have to be worked out. Not the most fun way to do it, but trial and error is how I learn most of my computer programs anyway. Matt "The Amtrak Switcher"
