RE: BNSF SD70M 208

If you would purchace the "Santa Fe Over Tehachapi Pass", You would have the unit. Plus 3DTS won`t let anyone release any repaints.

Whoever did that repaint forgot to change the number to 8208 as it would be in that post-merger BNSF paint scheme. And FWIW, 208 never got the large BNSF on the long hood, only the small patched letters under the numbers once the number was changed to 8208. Currently it is in H2 I believe.Austin

>FYI He stole the textures! And he dosn't seem to care much either....I just have a question for you. Do you think its alright to use 3D Train Stuff's SD70M/SD75M textures for your reskins and not give them any credit? I surley don't!
Thankyou,
Adam
Thanks for the inquiry Adam,
In answer to your rather sarcastic question. I use several methods of creating MY textures. And what I do is a trade secret. However I assure you that I do not use wholesale other peoples textures in Total. I use bits and parts of a lot bitmaps, as well as creating my own or I may use a template. Why don't you just enjoy the repaint, Like others who give me high compliments for creating something they enjoy. God knows there are ebough crappy repaints. Personally I think My repaints look a lot better then 3DTS Thank you.

*THIS IS AN UNSOLICITED RANTIf you ask me I say those of you who "reskin" have it entirely too easy and sometimes take too much credit for your work. It isn't that hard to work over something that is already laid out for you. You really should try building, UV Unwrapping, and texturing from the ground up. You'd have more of an appreciation for the labor and time consuming nature of such an undertaking. I am not trying to discount the work they do and clearly I am not "flaming" anyone's efforts. Just keep a little perspective. *THIS ENDS MY UNSOLICITED RANT >giggle!<

RE: BNSF SD70M 208

I totally agree with ya Danny On your models, the hard work has already been doneExpecialy the cabinet door details, rivets, bogie texture, shadowing, weathering, etc, which of none have i yet been able to duplicate myself. For me it's just a matter of copying and pasteing over logo's,heralds, stripes etc,to finally get the textures to be"blank"takes literally hours and hours of time, let alone the time it takes to apply new logo's,getting the color right, lineing up stripes etc.I appreciate the hard work ya do Danny, and it definately shows in all your work ...and thanks for the awesome sd70 model!!!It has been a joy for me to re-skin your stuff After seeing the SF sd70 in the file library,i decided to re-skin my own from scratch using Danny's textures.BNSF Sd70M 208 – image 24

>Have you thought of doing a repaint of Danny's C44-9W with
>those awesome textures. I am definitely sure it would totally
>look better than this >>>Those look horrible ! I did those by tweaking Chris Denbow's re-painted textures for the NALW dash9's and putting them on MLT's dash9 (with permission), I think one of the problems you're having is your sliders need to be turned up.

I personally beleive his intentions were good, from what I gatherd. He just wanted to do some repaints that everyone can enjoy! We can all make a mistake, I am not going to harp or flame on the guy. I think the horse been kicked to death already. But thats my two cents on the deal. I am not going to run the units reason being is, I run nothing in Red War Bonet colors. I am a BNSF Merger and Blue & Yellow War Bonet kindoff guy! Pentium 4 / 2.4GHz HT O/C @ 2.755GHz w 920FSB

Meh...I think your way off base and your starting to piss me off!!!> If I write a song and I use some of the same lyrics or notes or phrase's (which Is done all the time) Does that mean I have to credit the songwriters of 100 different songs. I do panels and aircraft for flight sim if somebody uses a bit map or whatever I feel privileged... they don't have to give me credit for every little thing. I don't know why your taking it upon yourself to be my conscience. Who are you anyway? As far as I am concerned that's my final word on the matter, and think my time can be much better used on creative projects then talking to you, so please don't bother to write me any further. I tried to be nice and answer your question. But I think I know where your coming from, and any message's I see from you will be deleted, so don't bother writing. You have your way of seeing things and that's fine for you. Don't try to enforce your logic, values or conscience on other people. Final word BYE!----- Original Message -----

You modified the textures, but you used parts off 3DTS's texture which ISN'T yours. I don't care how you do it, but you used 3TDS's textures to create your reskin and you should credit them for the original work. I don't care if someone modifies MY reskins as long as they give credit I don't care. Its not particulary hard to credit them in the readme. Adam
