I'm trying to make a repaint on PSP8 and I have a problem. How do I get layering to work on a black locomotive so I can change it's color? FYI I'm reskinning the NS GP40-2 by KLW. Thanks for any help!
Layering has no effect on color. But if you are re-skinning from a non-layered texture, you may have no choice but to start over from scratch. Pete Willard http://www.trainsimstuff.com

Have you tried using the "hue" function in PSP?Or you can convert the whole bitmap to "greyscale",but then you would have to continually adjust the colors pallette(to 256)every time you open the bitmap in psp.Let me guess, your trying to make a blank bitmap(minus logo's,numbers, stripes etc)?
Actually, converting to greyscale as a start point is a pretty good one. It will still preserve detail. Then use the flood fill tool with the colour of choice. Probably have to play around with the opacity and or hue settings though. Beer is not a matter of life and death. It is much more serious than that. mervyn.
